Well i just when to a manga and anime store and when i when in with my sister... everybody inside the store where guys right. But when i was looking around to see what i was going to buy every person inside the store where just looking at us. Is it because u guys think that anime and manga is just for u? Or is it that it is surprising seeing a girl who likes anime and manga? I mean i felt a litle like i dont know like in another dimension Twisted Evil

but seriously what do u think they did that! Its the same when i go to the library which has a very big section of manga every person who is near by or looking for some manga just look at me like saying: What r u doing here, u r a girl u can;'t be here? Why do guys do that? is there anyreson to discriminate me Twisted Evil

maybe its more like they havent seen a pretty girl before Wink

, but where i am its more like the opposite, mainly girls buy manga and anime so if a guy walks in, they look at you weird, usually happens to me Embarassed

. the only time its was actually normal for me is when i go with friends of mine and they just look at the old anime like DBZ/ GT, cowboy bebop and stuff. i actually sometimes ask friend thats a girl to go with me so i dont look weird.

lol you guys (and gals) are funny...i think depending on the section you walk to is when you get the stares...lol plus i see most americans walking around like they know all about anime and manga...and you ask them about something old school... they totally have no clue what your talking about...its so funny...i'm like what the hell do you guys know sigh*...but i never really noticed if anyone was looking at me when i buy manga or anime...half the time they're like should i get this or this...i end up helping them pick a title or recommend some to them.

in you cases...i think it purly surprise...if you live in CA its pretty normal, at least from what i can tell....no one really cares if your a guy or girl...though to me i've seen more guys in the anime and manga sections then girls...and they don't pick the same titles i do.

Hmmm no idea actually, around here no one really care if your a guy or a girl when you go and buy anime/manga. But then again that might just be because when I go out to buy some I don't really care to look around at the people around me but I do see alot of girls and guys and it's not like anyones staring at them just because they're at the manga section.
But then again it might be that they're just not used to it or something. Just ignore them and act like they don't exist.

being stared at like somethings goin on or somethings wrong?

just dont mind those people and do what u want to do! And if they stare at you like that again try askin them if WHATS THEIR PROBLEM! AND THEN KICK THEIR ASS AND SHOOT EM! (joke)

Are you sure you are just not being paranoid DarkTears?? Maybe one of you is really good looking or you may be that rare person who may actually buy a manga instead of reading the whole thing at the shop?

that is weird... When a girl enters a store here no one looks at them. its just like another person walking in. I guess it was just that tose guys never seen girls? lol

yea, i get the same thing. every time i go to a manga store at the mall everyone inside there just stare at me. it isnt wierd for an asian to go in there but is it wierd for a girl to? seriously i just want to walk in there like a normal person, without any stares. Confused

is that too hard to ask?

Guys like to look at girls that's just the way things go hehe Razz

If guys see you are interested in the same thing as them then they are more likely to look your way... maybe they're hoping you will notice them and go talk to them!

maybe it aint because there is a pretty girl but they are just racist. i am Chinese and i buy some English translated manga. but when i walked into the store, people sometimes stare at me. maybe it because it weird for them to see a Chinese guy buying english manga when i could just buy the Chinese ones.

What everyone said above or maybe (not to be racist or anything) it was because you were white, brown or black. Many-idiot-people often think it's just asians that read them, especially the men. Hey don't mind us, we sometimes stare at you gals because you happen to be unique. Also they might stare at you because you happen to be interested in what they are interested in.
