I actually hate that when that happens. It's not weird for asinas to buy english translated mangas right? I may be only half but my face shows I'm 100%(that's also a sad thing for me). Stare? or they follow you every inch of the store...or just say "may I help you with something sir?" (walk away.^^ like you don't understand them(I do).where can you buy the chinese ones anyway?
but anyways...I don't buy my animes on-foot. I buy them online since I don't know any stores here and I don't want to get lost just to buy one manga or DVD.

could be. i mean if pam anderson walked into a bookstore and picked a manga and started to read it everyopne would look at her breast and later become manga fanatics lol!! i think its just weird fpr ppl to stare at you just cuz ur a girl and ur reading a manga...............ok frozen_chiken ask for her ###!!! lol!

Its not just guys that do that. Girls do it to. It was probably just that they thought it odd to see you in that store. Mostly likely that were hoping for a chance to talk to you or whatnot. Girls being into anmie/manga is rare in a lot of places, at least openly. Lately its been becoming less rare, but it might just be that store. If a girl caught my eye that seemed to be into the same thing things as me, I might give a few glances. Then again, they could have been trying to see the manga you were looking at.

pheww~when i saw the thread i thought it was about the OTHER thing that guys do and i was like wtf..thats kind of a strange thread
neways i think guys stare b/c even tho anime/manga isn't just for guys, most of the girls they hang out w/ prolly doesnt watch that much anime so they think its a strange scene |

If you think about it, how many hot looking guy's read manga and watch anime? When was the last time the hottest dude in class suddenly blurts out "hey did you see the latest episode of G Gundam?" Nah, no way!
(I'm gonna assume your a good looking girl, k?) So, it's only natural for manga-anime dudes to look at you, since they dont really assume that a girl like you (still assuming yer a hottie) would be interested in manga's.
I ask you this: If you found out that the cutest dude in your class is into D&D, what would you think? I bet it goes something like this "ur the cutest guy in class! how the hell can you play this nerd-game!?"

Well, secretly, they might watch anime and read mange, but they might not say it out loud to the whole world. Well, like in my school, people who read and watch manga and anime tend to keep it a secret, don't want the others to call them "otaku". |

Ppl in my school just don't talk about anime or manga even tho we do have a anime club. No one would make fun of you if you watched anime in my school. |
