Kenshin Himura from Samurai X is the best.
Plus there is an explanation on the sword skill and style that does not make it look like he is using any kind of power other than his sword skill.
The rest uses power/enhanced weaponry to supplement their skills. |

They're both considered the best in the context of their own series. Although, I wonder who would come out on top if they went at it. hm....  |

Kyo would win, like I said Kenshin only uses sword techniques no other power or weaponry, Kenshin would dodge the mizuchi technique but there is still the phoenix and that wind of a thousand voices he used on the Demon Oda Nobunaga at the end. |

Gatsu from Berserk, he is such a complex/tragic character and so fast and strong, he has skill and is near merciless but his actions are always understandable... you will suffer with him...
close after Gatsu comes Kenshin, he is funny has a good character, has skill and also had a tragic past but it comes not even close to Gatsu!! |
