ehhh, i finally got around to watch the first episode. It wasn't as good as I thought it would be, but the ending theme "cotton candy" by Bonnie Pink was the best!!! _________________ PM some funny pick-up lines please > |

| One of the first I ever watched. It really is a classic, but I was kinda sad when they didn`t continue it or finish it for that matter. I know the manga did but was too lazy, and didn`t know. When they said they were going to remake and rerelease it, it brought back some memories. I really like the new Sho design looks a lot kooler now. At least they kept the armour the same, that thing is so bad ass there`s no need for change. |

I have to disagree with you there! I've watched the original series 5 or 6 times and I have to say the animation quality of the new one far outweighs the original. The character design is much cleaner and crisper and the CGI effects were pretty good (the backgrounds still leave a lot to be desired though!).
Has anyone seen the original Guyver movie? It was made well before the original series and if you're talking about poor animation quality, the movie had it all! |

Caireen are you talking about the OVA Out of Control or one of the live action films? If it's Out of Control then yes I've seen it, was ok didn't like the ecchi/hentai refernces in it other then that it was pretty ok. Never read the manga probably will if I get the chance and find it in english.
Kind of sad that they didn't pick it up where the last series ended understandble since it was a long time ago it aired but still would have been great if they did then I wouldn't have to wait even longer to see what happened after it ended.
Oh don't know how many knows David Hayter played Guyver in the second movie (Don't know about the first since I haven't seen that one). He does some voice acting like Solid Snake in Metal Gear Solid series. Anyway I was going to say was he sometimes uses the name Sean Barker when casted and that was the name of Sho in the american movies. |

I'm quite dissapointed with the animation since its a 2005 production... but the story seems like it'll get more intruiging and exciting.
But one fact that caught my eye was that the female voice cast is Mizuki Nana!! My favvv
She's the voice cast for Naruto - Hinata and Basilisk - Oboro
Couldn't believed she's a singer ^.^ Her voice for the op and ed songs for Basilisk is awesome
by the way, you guys can dl via bittorrent and baka-updates. |

@eisenmeteor: I must mean the OVA ^_^ I saw it years ago and whatever the DVD was I watched, said movie on the cover.
I love the live action movies as well. The first one is a real laugh and the Guyver phenomenon isn't complete without them
I think you really need to have seen the original Guyver anime series to be truly impressed with the animation quality of the 2005 version. I have been spoiled in recent years with quality animation, so the thought of watching something as dire as the old Guyver now, was always offputting, so this new series has come as a real treat
From what I hear, although this new series starts from the very beginning again, it is supposed to tell more of the story and one assumes it will be longer than the original 12 episodes. (I still remember buying the videos, when they were released one a month, with one episode on a tape - and as advertised at the time "for no more than the price of a magazine" ^_^). |

I think I saw Guyver the first time about 11 years ago or something on sci fi channel. Well to make it easier if the second Guyver was a girl then it would be the OVA. Thought it was so so didn't like the incomplete ending.
Is the first live action movie any good? Have the second one on dvd but never seen the first one, wanted to for some time but I've never found it. Maybe not be the best movie ever but still fun to watch from time to time. One thing I liked in the second movie is that he dosen't suddenly overpower his enemys if their kicking his as like certain Jet Li movies, when they first get beat up and then just suddenly get stronger then the other one.
I don't know been so long since I last saw the old Guyver series that I don't remember to much but the action felt kind of slow in the new one, maybe it's just me. But the animation is great and Ive alredy gotten annoyed with one character in the series (The fat guy with glasses who's name I forgot). I do however miss the old opening song or was it the end song... the one where they sing Guyver anyway.
Yeah I saw the first ep just yesterday was pretty much the same as before. The only thing that "tell more story" says to me is that it's going to be more dragged out then the last one. Those 12 episodes might just take 20 I hope not but it sounds like that and they've said that it'll tell the story that happens after the old one as well. |

It's about the same as the others, but definitely worth a watch, as the first time a character becomes the "superhero" is always the most fun ^_^ (I believe he's called the dark hero, isn't he?!!). It does seem pretty scarse these days - I still have my original region 2 DVD I bought years ago. |
