This could be SO good. It could also be SO bad. Razz

I hope they actually pick decent actors for it rather than just going for big names. I think that's what this fan has done for his trailer. Frodo - I mean Elijah Wood - is a pretty good actor, though not quite what I'd expect for Shinji. Emma Watson as Asuka would just be a mistake, plain and simple. She hasn't yet shown she can do any kind of difficult character acting (she was type cast for Harry Potter, after all). Plus, I doubt she'd have the time.

And Hugo Weaving as Gendo Ikari? Don't make me laugh! Well, maybe if he grew a little beard...

You know... I honestly don't care that much whether they cast those people or not, the point of the preview was to show that it's possible to make the live action movie totally kick-ass. As soon as I had heard about it I was looking forward to it, and now I don't have so many hesitations about it due to trying to take it from 2d to 3d. And then hearing about the 4 additional movies. I've been waiting to get some extra cash on hand to buy the manga that those movies could potentially be based on... they appear to start with the alternate reality that was introduced during the last episode of the series, and move from peaceful/happy to the usual the-world-is-about-to-die-unless-you-stop-it-at-the-last-minute scenario common in the series.

Oh, and for all those of you who have been hard core fans, I've been working on an in-depth review of the series, and would love to hear some opinions of what you thought would be most important to include, and how or anything else you can think of... so... yeah, any one willing to help me out? I would be very grateful!!! Maybe even buy you a cake or something.... Very Happy

The thing about casting big names instead of people who can really do the job is that the result may be good, but it also may be horrible. I think that instead of looking for actors who already have a while in the job and are famous they should try and search for people who fit in.
