I didn't really like it. It WAS very good, but I'd already watched "RahXephon" so it didn't quite manage to meet the high standarts. And yes, I know it's the original but it's just the worst one of them...

Well, not really, but I don't think the viewer is necessarily supposed to "like him" entirely either. He kind of reflects the flaws that we all embody. _________________ Zannen, Canada - Your Canadian anime source.
if he's the flaws in all of us well i dont see to much hope for humanity. I dont really know why he's so b*tchy in the show specially near the end. My opinion of him is hes just representing the worst anyone at that age could ever come to and i still think they went overboard. Id like to think kids that age would be more rational but then again you never know.

You guys are kinda harsh, do remember that this anime is already an old anime, so it can be considered a masterpiece. I believe that no one is perfect, including anime characters so just think that this is an indirect way to tell us viewer that we humans are not perfect.
About the naked scenes, is there a scene where young Rei saw naked Ritsuko after a bath and called her ugly old hag so Ritsuko choked her to death? I don't really remember there is this scene in the vcd version i watched.

You mean, Evangelion? THE MOVIE SUCKED. And pretty much the ending few episodes. They ran out of money, so they rushed it. When they finnaly had enough cash to back the true ending up, the movie was mostly full of orgy sex scenes in the end, and didnt really have a true closure to the story.... Everyone dies. _________________

OMG did you have some sort of hentai version i know nothing about?
the scene was that Rei was lost, and kinda bumped into Ritsuko's MOTHER, Naoko. she called her an old hag, cuz that's what gendo called her. Naoko got really pissed and killed her, and then threw herself onto the magi, killing herself. and the nude scene with shinji is: Shinji went to take a bath, saw penpen, panicked, ran into the room (naked) where Misato was. that's the only scene I can come up with that resembles what you said :/

No, i just think he was poorly developed, his weaknesses - exaggerated and overall - a character you love to hate. Even the lowest and meanest character should at least not make you wanna stop watching the series. And up till now only Asuka and Fllay (Gundam Seed) have gone half as far as Shinji. _________________ Fllay IS a bitch...

Shinji is just a normal kid. Any boy his age would blush when they saw a girl nearly naked. But, i think it was pretty.... unusual when shinji jacked off in the emergency room.... _________________

wark - nope, that's what i saw in the video tape.
it was Ritsuko who choked Rei to death, not her mom. And it was Shinji who saw Misato naked. Am i the only one who watched this version? _________________ What's yours is mine, what's mine is still mine.

Eh? i watched all episodes including the movie, and i thought it was the mother of ritsuko who choked Rei, and after she saw what she did, she commited suicide by falling...? And... when did shinji see misato naked? i knew they kissed... but....? _________________
