My favorite anime series. A bit disappointed by the "Death and Rebirth" that came out of the series though Sad

. I love the character progressions and the quirks of each character. They have their own flaws that instead of turning you off, it endears them to you. I havent seen any anime that can compare with the depth and richness of each character.
The death and rebirth is quite confusing because there I felt like theres something missing that the series didnt show. But overall Evangelion rocks. You may or may not agree with me but every man has his own tastes right?

I'm not sure if this is a question that can be answered or not but, are the movies meant to be an alternate ending to Eva or do the fill in the gap between death of 17th angel/5th childand the last two episodes?

Or do they have a completely different purpose all together?

same here.i think the final few episodes screwed up what could have been a classic.they just tryed too hard i guess.

It's somewhat easy to understand once you watch the uncut + listen..or read..and watch carefully.
Truely a masterpiece series with a horrible ending. Confused

I started watching Eva but stopped. Later on, I picked up the manga, because it was the only thing I could recognize on the book shelf. Right now, I have the whole collection on DVD, and wonder if the manga will end like the tv series or the end movies? I don't mind the tv series' ending, and I am sure it shook the anime community. Nice to have that ending, as it made way for endings like Lain.

ive heard it both ways. best ending ever. worst ending ever.

i didnt get the ending either. actually, while i was watching it, i really believed i knew wat they were saying. then afterwards i was like maybe i got it wrong.

i think its like picasso's paintings. some ppl think its the best art of all times. they sell for... god knows how much. some ppl think its ugly.

personally, i think the ending was artistic (ep 26... not end of evangelion)... even tho i think i dont get it.

and i hate picasso's artwork. cubism... wat was he smoking....

Evangelion is one of the best animes ever. even though the ending was weird it was good and i am glad gainax made the movies is stead of leaving of with the last two episodes

evangelion konfused the krap out of me towards the end, even those movies made afterwards. i've learned to just appreciate the series for it's dope action and great character development.

I was skimmin through what everyone said and im suprised i did not see any comments on the movie End of Evangelion, Which caould help explain some of the things to people maybe. The movie is very well done and i reccomand u getting it or atleast watchin it.

i wish i could watcth the end of eva movie cause its been on my cpu for like 3 weeks but i still cant find the gay death and rebirth movie in full and im told its needed b4 end of eva

Good point i have not found death and rebirth online but i have found end of eva. I have seen death thought before, and it is good to watch tha tfirst, plus the music is really good, in the movies. so u know.

The thing that really just kills me is ive seen death.. i saw right up till the end of death and the gay file cut out and i have end of eva on my cpu. Ive uploaded to at least 60 people in two weeks and i wish i could just see the 30mins of rebirth so i could get past this series. NO ONES SHARING ON THE P2P PROGS ZOMG
