It really made me sad that the flashing words weren't translated. Having to turn on subtitles then go frame by frame just to see what all the kanji said was kind of a pain.

But it was a very effective technique, and very unique. I haven't seen it repeated as of yet, in fact.

i dunno man, evangelion is still pretty good in my opinion and probably in many others too 'cause it's just unique in it's own way.

but the only thing that makes me mad about it is how shinji is kinda stupid but oh well.

other then that, the eva's look pretty cool, i wish all mechs looked like eva's instead of gundams.

Well if the other mechas all looked like Eva then it'd be boring. And should all look like Eva I hope they'd only look like it 'cause if they all operated that way they'd have a hard time finding the children to do the job not to mention we also need to consider the risks to the pilots ><.

There's a lot of hatred directed towards Shinji by fans (and non fans) of Evangelion. I feel sympathetic towards him, in spite of the stupid things he does or thinks. Sure, he's flawed, but you have to remember that he's just a fourteen year old boy. If you had to deal with everything he deals with at that age, would you be any less messed up?

Yeah, intelligence wasn't the right word. My bad. It's too easy to misconstrue. Maybe depth and complexity would have been better. No offence intended, I'm just a bit passionate when it comes to this anime. Razz

I don't understand how you can call the characters boring, though. They're some of the most flawed and interesting characters going in anime. And if you just want guns and explosions, Evangelion has that too! I'll admit, it's a bit slow starting, though.

Out of interest, Ultimasome, what was the other anime that you watched and found boring?

Can't agree more with xenocrisis0153. He's totally got the series there. Many people complain that its too hard to understand or that the director is crazy, but I don't think so. I find it a pretty good and interesting series.
