Heard that it is because of money problem that the last few episodes uses a lot of still pictures...that could be why the final few episodes seems extremely confusing...

This anime is great and interesting but the plot of its story is quite complicated. You need to watch it one more time to understand it . But the ending is really sad. Only Shinji Ikari and that red hair girl left alive.Bahh!!!

Watched the anime when i was young but it was the uncensored version (lots of nude scenes). Just can't resist Rei with that lonely looks on her.. You have to watch the Beginning and End of Evangelion to fully understand the story.

There are 2 versions that i found, one is the original uncensored one like i mentioned and the other is the graphically enhanced version which took out some "nasty" scenes.

Do you mean a censored version of the series, or the movie(s)?

If you're referring to the series, there were extended versions of a few of the later episodes. But I don't recall any added nudity (aside from a bra shot). And since the material wasn't cut from the original version (it was added later), you can't really say there's a censored and an uncensored verison of those episodes. Wink

As for the movie, "The End of Evangelion", I could imagine at least one scene being censored. But I've never heard of such a version being released.

I meant the series. The first one i watched was video tape format since vcd wasn't popular back then.

I recall there's a scene where Shinji sees Misato naked when taking a bath which i can't find in the vcd ones.

Were the VCDs an official release? (I must admit, I have no clue about the VCD market, since they were never popular, if available at all in the US.)

I will admit that the US licensee (ADV) has done a very poor job with Eva. I own their original DVD release, in which the video is heavily (and poorly) edited to replace Japanese text with English. No scenes are cut, but it's shameful to tinker with a masterpiece like that. Supposedly, their rerelease fixes all those problems, but I have I hard time giving them more money for the product I wanted in the first place. Sad

...Of course, that's why God invented BitTorrent Very Happy

The vcds are official from Gainax. Yes, i agree that masterpiece like Eva shouldn't be dubbed. Originals are still the best !

P.S: God didn't event BT. He created humans .. that's why we are a masterpiece of God. Laughing

Since the video tape or video recorder is spoiled (i hear sounds but no images), i can't check it for you, sorry!

If i remember clearly, it was not long after 1st meeting with Misato.
