Some majorly overrated anime in my opinion are:
Escaflowne:The Movie
Yu-Gi-Oh
Scr-y-ed
Shaman King
Duel Masters
What do you think is overrated or just plain horrible anime? _________________ [img:400:224:9a48d672c1]http://comalies.free.fr/images/ergoproxy.jpg[/img:9a48d672c1]

| They both target young viewers, that's why they're still in business. (not sure about Digimon) |

these types of threads tend to incite flames as it's nature is to attack. if you insist on posting here, put a logical, thoughtout reason for what you say. should this degrade into a flame thread, it will be locked and removed. _________________

Naruto - decent, a long series worth following before another anime replaces it like Naruto did to Dragonballz.
One Piece - Too plain in colours. Story line is just another "friends are great" plot all too familiar with SJ series. |

I don't care much for Dragonball/DBZ/DBGT/whatever else was made of this series. A lot of people seem to love it, but I just can't stand the boring, extremely drawn-out fight scenes. Which is about all there is... >_<;
I found Digimon to be pretty cool though, believe it or not. XD; Laugh if you must, but I think the idea of Digital Monsters and saving a Digital World is pretty darn cool. |

Overrated animes for me:
Evangelion: Jus cuz they have tha AT field and are probably more than 100m tall, doesn't mean they're all powerful. Shinji's whining also really gets on my nerves, cuz I believe that all pilots should be a lot colder than that.
Wolf's Rain: Never really was into wolves, but also I found that there was too much talking, not enough action.
Gasaraki: Same case as wolf's rain, but without the wolves. Worst part for me is that it was a mecha anime as well. the action scenes I also found to be quite dull.
Oddly enough, I don't think the Pokemon tv series as a whole is overrated, simply because I thought everyone hated it. The really overrated thing there is Pikachu, beating Pokemon left, right and centre. It'd be fine, if it couldn't beat rock Pokemon with electric attacks, which one could never replicate in the game. Hell, the tv show and the game live by an almost completely different set of rules, which shouldn't happen, regardless of who the show is aimed at. |

i would have to disagree w/ u on wolf's rain being overrated. it's not that popular..and was never really hyped up. I think its focus on the whole plot stayed intact throughout the entire series......so wat if there was talking......at least the story as a whole is interesting. _________________

actually in a few of the forums i've been to, wolf's rain was pretty hyped up. I personally don't like too much talking a lot of the time, especially when the anime starts with a bunch of gunfights and explosions. I also felt that the story's pace was waaay too slow and i could never be bothered to watch until halfway through the series, which is when people said it got good. I can only accept a lot of talking in romance/ drama anime, but still, I feel there should be something to break the monotony. |

to Granzan> well yes i have to agree w/ u on the fact that wolf's rain had slow rythm throughout the series. but take the anime as a whole...and it's really good. i hate the marriage couple! omg they served no purpose!!! ....but u should see the last 2 episodes.......cuz it had a lotta action...the animation just sparkled in the red moon light! _________________

| DBZ was over-rated. It took way too long for a character to do a move. Like spirit bomb took 2 and a half episodes to charge up and miss. |
