The Simpsons Vs The Family Guy

Family Guy has well-scripted and original comedy.

In case you didn't notice, I was lying, just as Sideshow Bob lied to Selma, saying that MacGyver has an original plot. How can I say this...? Remember that recent episode when the Simpsons were in Italy and the viewers saw a book about criminals? In one of the pages was Peter Griffin, in which plagiarism was labeled under him. (On a side note, American Dad was also labeled with plagiarsim of plagiarsim.) People who watch this series overlook the fact that Family Guy is the quintessential piece of plagiarsim of all time. Peter Griffin is just so stupid and annoying, a shameful copy of the idiotic male archetype. Wow, and he is the head of a dysfunctional family? I never saw that before. Can anyone even tell me truthfully that he or she likes the uninspired opening theme? No wonder critics constantly deride the show for its lack of originality and reliance on cheap laughs coming from insipid, slapstick comedy. And anybody who is a fan of South Park should not dare say he is a fan of Family Guy. The creators of a good show like South Park (despite its crude guise, the show is humorous more for its political and social commentary) despise that show.

Regarding the Simpsons, the show has sunken to the lowest levels of quality. I think the audience is tired of Homer's incessant stupidity. (See episode when Lisa was an American Idol, and Homer was about to vomit, and he kept saying "I think it is staying down. No, it's not. Yeah, it is. No. Yes. No. Yes.....) Those are worthless scenes, in which the creators and animators are obviously trying to fill air time with useless drivel. Can stupidity be that funny? I think it is more annoying. Simpsons might as well resort to clip shows. But hey, I rather support a Simpsons clip show than say Family Guy is a masterpiece (exception: Giggety Giggety Goo-Quagmire, Stewie, and Pete's driving of a phallic-symbol-inspired car into an out of a tunnel.)

yeah family guy all the way!!

it just... has jokes about... EVERYTHING and they just have .. i dont know but i find family guy more funny then simpsons

Simpsons used to be soo good but now it's getting alittle less funny. family guy on the other hand is outrageously funny. The things they do is just unexpected and oh so funny.

I love Family Guy, but being raised with the Simpsons gave me a biased opinion. But I haven't even seen as much of FG as I have of the Simpsons, so that obviously effected my vote. Both are friggin' hillarious though.

family guy is stupid funny. simpsons has some substance. but i prefer the stupid funny to substance.

simpson's is more of afamily codey that has all the laughs and nice subtle jokes, family guy is also really funny but my votes with the simpsons just because Homer is the best character ever created.

i think that there are more laugh ou loud moments in simpsons then in family guy, and simpsons is more the kind of "smart comedy" but the both are fantastic and hilarious

simpon's have been around forever but I would say that family guy is a better comedy
