How i should put this in words. I also read Ichigo 100% and it is true that is was a lot like a novel and reflects a lot to reality. However, it is some of it is just the ways the author feels.
Even thought it is partly true that our society has girls like those manga ones, there is too little of them. In this generation, women has almost all the previleges they want not as the old times. Therefore, today women honor themselves and their pride. They want to stand out to tell the world that they can be better than men (silly thing. there is no man better than a women and vice versa). This kind of psychology creates the open minded women and girls that are not anymore that shy as they used to be, maybe only the ones that are not very confident with themselves are more like the manga ones.
I believe in my own experience that most of the girls in society is not like the ones in Ichigo 100%. They are open minded nowadays. But there still hope. I hope to be lucky and find one that i like someday.
Some mangaka draw and write their manga according to real-life stuffs, i.e Ai Yazawa. Nana is a prime example.
Maybe there is a lot of possibility of the manga/anime scenes happening in real life, but there is one that will not happen, no matter what. Nerdy looking guy like Keitarou being surrounded by hot chicks who like him and fight for him. I shudder to think of that.

The girls in manga are a bit more surreal compared to the real life ones. Exaggerations aren added to a lot of characters, especially the way major characters think and talk. Manga lifestyle is almost like Medival time, because most people in manga are serene and uses big words! We don't these days anymore.
