you need a program like bit buddy to use a torrent file, and sorry but you will need someone else to explain about torrent files since i'm not good at explaining

a torrent is a dynamic list of ip adresses and files that when read by a bit torrent client( i use azureus) creates the path u specify to save those files in and then connects u to the other people downloading those files. Basically, the torrent is what you need to start downloading a file on bittorrent, read some stuff on google to learn how to use it it's friggin easy...
