me and my friend had an agrument on with was the first Gundam series and i really dont know with was first . i know that gundam is old so if anyone can tell me OR list them all that would be nice.

I think it is Gundam 1786 or don't know the name of it.

I think the first gundam series ever was called "Mobile Suit Gundam".

It's not a continuous series. They're different stories and gundams.
They all have the basic conception on Gundams, thats why they're called Gundams.

Gundams has had a very successful variety of shows. Each series had its ups and downs and its overall was very good.
As you can see from the variety of different gundams, the show didn't get boring after this many seasons. They usually have something new so viewers don't get bored of the same old characters and Mobile Suits.
