Then again my hair did slowly turn to dark brown around about the time I hit puberty. I like to think it was indicative of the loss of my innocence and genreal dissilussionment, but really it only happened when I turned Goth as a wee teenager (didn't we all? And isn't being goth the ultimate expression of naivety?). |

| Well, my older sister is blonde and blue eyed. The rest of us (my family) are dark haired and eyed. And she's academicly smarter than all of us. But she does lack some commen sense... |

This is a perfect example of a stereotype, AND of societal sensory adaptation. You have been fed all your life that "blonds are stupid" by every facet of the media. You may not meet a single blond until you are 56 years old, but one of the first thoughts you will have will be "Oh she is stupid" You will only think this AFTER you have evalated her appearance as sexually appealing or not. For some reason which I dont even know, those with blond hair have been branded with a mark of stupidity. And since even women are bombarded with this accepted stereotype, even THEY believe it, and eventually get to the the point where they do act stupid, be it on purpose or just learned behavior. This sort of thing just pisses me off. The only reason that it could be remotely true would be because society has shot us full of its bull crap and we begin to act out on it.
