I watched first part and almost fell asleep... Peter looks short and immature to me. His girl isn't that great also. The content is even more ridiculus in logic. The Nobel guy first accidentially killed his wife. He then started off to rob the bank. Well, can he spend the money after he had the money on hand? Would he actually go outside and buy thing with his giant roboic weirdy looking and the money?
I don't think the movie is that good comparing to the day after tomorrow. |
Nobel guy? You mean Dr Octavius right?
The movie already explicitly stated what happened. His arms had AI that are able to interface with his neural network. In layman's terms, they were able to influence his mind especially after that neural inhibitor chip got fried.
Criminals don't usually waltz into your Walmart to buy stuff (especially high tech stuff). Ever heard of the black market? |

I agree with Yebyosh. First off, this is a comic book movie. you must suspend your idea of reality just a little bit. I mean jinkies, he's a super hero after all. its like anime, except with us silly americans behind the helm. Hehe.
I like the spidey. I think that they have done a very good job adapting the idea of the comics to the movies. I eagerly await the third movie (which was set up very well). I want to know if it will try to kinda follow the comics plot and have hob-goblin kill MJ.
These days, I don't expect a whole lot out of movies because, frankly, most of them aren't worth the money to sit in the theater and watch them. Spidey 2 was a pleasant surprize, but then again, I love Sam Raimi. I can't help it. I love all the hokey horrible stuff he does. (And I love Bruce Campbell cameos, they make me all warm and squishy inside.)
I must admit, in this movie I didn't see the Raimi car cameo. i probably just missed it though. You people who know about Raimi movies or have read the Bruce Campbell book will know what I'm talking about. hehe.

By the way, I thought this movie was wretched. I mean come on, Thermo-dynamics people. Theres only three friggin laws and I think this movie disobeyed all of them. *twitch* At least Spidey knows that its comic book hokey. Though, I must admit there were several times I wondered where those magical spidey webs were going and what they were attatched to. Seriously, think about it.[/quote] |

i have to compleatly first dissagre with bemi from his post a while back. If he thought the day after tommorow was as good as spiderman than he obviously has no idea of what makes a good movie. 90% its not cg. Anyway i might have said this before but only the sun thing going into the water and the idea of having those AI arms convieniantly for this fusion thing, well thats all that bugged me. Otherwise if i look at the plot it did a very good job. I happened to like it a lot. Oh 1 thing i didnt understand, what happened to the flat forign girl who gave him cake. I havnt figured out why that was in there. _________________ "Let them hate, so long as they fear" |

Perhaps she was there to act as a distraction, as a possible alternative to MJ Peter Parker could take, therefore adding to Peter's internal struggles, or to the audience's "don't-go-there-Peter" apprehension? Emotional warfare, or a sign thereof.
Or maybe they were just trying to show that there are still people who care, no matter how much of a loser you may seem to be to most people.
Life is full of small circumstances that don't seem to lead anywhere. Maybe they added her in just to make the movie more realistic in that sense.
Perhaps she will be present for the third movie and her part in it will be key, so her minor role in the second movie acted more as an introduction or foreshadowing.
Do any of those work for you, lol? |

I find that enough creativity mixed in with enough knowledge can make even the most ludicrous idea make sense, even when it involves things of science (since so much of science is actually unknown and made up of theories in and of itself). The chaos theory suggests that even the "facts" that we do know about can be altered with the introduction of other "facts" (known or unknown) that can directly influence and change the rules a little.
Kind of like with the English language. "i" before "e" except after "c" crap. You know.
So . . . does anyone care to explain that whole sun-in-the-water thing? We're not talking about dismantling the "theory". We're talking about inforcing it.
Or is that impossible? Will anyone take up this "challenge"?
. . . maybe I will, if I'm not feeling too lazy.
Of course, if you try this, be aware that others are also free to challenge it . . . and then you can alter to your heart's content until you reach a stalemate.
I'm too bored for my own good. |

After looking around, I found it was pretty much impossible to "explain" the logic behind the science in SP2 using factual knowledge of today.
So that leaves that miracle element (what was it called?) as the only possible explanation . . . it was what made defying the laws of physics as we know them today possible. Apparently, it has properties equivalent to pigs flying in reality. Only 25 pounds of it on Earth, right? Yeah.
I wish I could fly.

I watched the movie a few days ago. I didn't find it THAT great of a movie, yes is it a good movie for a comic book adaption but compared to other movies, it is above average but nothing spectacular.
What i found funny was how Peter's whole life was falling apart, Spiderman not being able to control his personal life? hehe
You can bet there's a third movie in the works. Probably two villians in the 3rd movie, the globin and the professor with one arm that turns into the lizard guy (Dr Oct's friend and Peter's prof)
Btw, movie tickets now are like $12 CDN, fewer and fewer movies are meeting my expectations to warrant spending 12 bucks to watch it. Will I spend the 12 bucks to watch the 3rd movie? Borderline to no. heh. _________________
