It has no reason to exist. The world would be fine with just Sony and Nintendo. Xbox is just a product of Microsoft's greed.

I may not be an xbox fan, but why is the Xbox a product of greed?

Please explain. Aren't the other consoles made to make money as well.

Of all the console developers, Sony is the most strict and nearsighted. They also make the most asinine decisions. For example, they have complete control of what games are allowed to appear in their console and go to the US. Currently 2d games are frown upon, so you see very few 2d game development on the ps2. Though I believe most of the blame must be put on Sony of America

I'm also not much of a gamecube fan either, but Nintendo is the best company that promotes game creativity and originality. They have very few good games, but those few games are very well done. Their weakness is due to the lack of strong third-party software support. It feels like the dreamcast

The xbox is doing a great job in the US. Whether you personally like the xbox or not, they are making good business choices. They not only created a new video gaming demographic (the ghetto gamer), they are also feeding them what they want. This is what is making the xbox prosper here in the US. Yet, that demographic doesn't play video games in japan. They are losing tremendously in japan. As a US gamer who has similar tastes as Japanese video gamers, the xbox feels deficient. I blame the ghetto-fying of the video game culture on the Xbox.

The reason why I'm still a ps2 fan, is because of my love for japanese rpgs. As long as Sony keeps bringing quality rpgs to the Ps2 and soon to release Ps3, then I'll keep giving them my money. I just hope Sony's Iron-grip won't stop the deluge of Japanese RPGs that has been occuring over the last 2 years.

Long time ago my mom brought me to Costco to buy a gaming system. It was either Sega Genesis or Super Nintendo. I remember it being priced at 109.99 for the Sega and 119.99 for the SNES. I chose the Sega....bad choice! I should've gone with the SNES like all my other friends at the time. This is the only bad gaming console I have ever owned.

the GBA SP, as i think it was just a fivolous waste of money for anybody who already had a GBA. it just added a few pathetic little features on, ones they could have done to the original GBA, but they just wanted to get more money out of the consumer. bastards.

I'm sorry to say that I can't agree with you. Do you not remember the limitations of the GBA? Let me enumerate them:

1. No back-light
2. The use of regular Akaline batteries
3. Low battery life
*4. Size (big compared to SP)

Although some people may question the $99 price tag when the SP was new, especially when you already have a GBA, that does not mean that the SP was a horrible console. For me, it was totally worth it, especially for the longer battery-life and the back-light (both of which were great features).

I have a very hard time to believe that longer battery life (rechargeable too), and a back-light, which allows you to play in low light and in the DARK were pathetic features. Truthfully, I believe you were just pissed because you felt you got screwed by being an early adopter. But you know what, I was early adopter too and I felt bad for getting the GBA because overall the SP was a better GBA version. Yet, I still I got it because I thought it was better product; and I also waste all my money on games *shrugs*

I felt those SP features should have been implemented on the first generation of GBA's, but it didnt' happen. Yet, my anger to be an early adopter doesn't blind me to the fact that the SP is better than the old GBA.

The famicom by the way is the first generation NES, and no its not that old when you compare it to the Atari 2600.

By the way I"m the same age as the Famicom, that means I must be really Old

I would just like to say....despite the fact that i love the games that are on ps1 and ps2.... i HATE SONY. They always rip us gamers off. Whether it be with 2 controller ports... COME ON! even the Dreamcast had 4..... the fact that the ps2 memory card cant hold ps1 games. EVen when they redesigned the ps2 slim version....2 controller ports. The fact that when you buy Final Fantasy XI online and have a harddrive...you cant save squat on it.
Although i hate the XBOX because of its lack of decent games (aside from halo 1), at least they A) give u 4 controller ports... B) give you a stinkin harddrive....C) built the system so that it was easy to program on for programmers.

Nintendo.....you never learn ur lesson. I have been an avid Nintendo fan ever since the Famicom days. But if u keep designing your controller around 1 type of genre of games.... you will NOT be ABLE to EVER re-capture the market. And ...the nintendo revolution controller looks as gimmicky as ever. Other than playing Mario type games on there (which i love), i dont really see any one playing tekken with that type of controller.
If it werent for the 1st party stuff...oh my..... Nintendo would have been long extinct.
