Does Ace Ventura count as an action hero?

Hes always getting himself into action like sitiuations, like car chase or spying.

Bruce Lee would have to be my favorite, mainly because his movies were amazing and the man him self was amazing in the martial arts. After I would have to say Jet Li, mainly because of Hero and Unleashed. Then Jackie Chan, though I don't really like many of his newer movies.

Other then those three I'm a fan of just about everyone on that list, but Arnold Schwarzenegger would have to be a very, very close fourth.

Jet Li

Bruce Lee

The Rock (dood has charisma... and can kinda act, although most of that was from WWE)

Angelina Jolie - Seriously, this woman has a lot of action film roles. And she's a great actress... and I can watch her alllll day. (oops... I spoke too much)

I like Clint Eastwood.

Bruce Willis was pretty cool in Last Man Standing, though.

i'd say its like this for me

Jet Li
Jackie Chan
Bruce lee

since nowadays, jet li would kick bruce lee's ass even if he wasnt dead, because brucelee would be to old to still be such a good martial artist i say.

Jackie Chan cannot fight. He displays acrobatic moves to impress the those who have not seen significantly better action films. Bruce Lee can really fight, though. Jet Li also has a real background in martial arts. All of these three, however, are not real masters in fighting, which one would expect from just Hollywood representation of martial arts. I must say that I do have an affinity for Seagal, who actually knows some moves, unlike the Governator. Have you guys seen how well choreographed his fight scenes are? They don't seem as technical as Lee's or flashy as Chan's, but he still can hold his own.

the less said about Segal's ponytail the better Wink
the great thing about Segal is that he combined martial arts with the revered hollywood action hero one liner. example > Segal who is a navy cook encounters a villain in the kitchen of a ship in one of the Sieges. beats him to pulp of course, then says:
'nobody beats me in the kitchen'

haha come on! its funny! Jet Li is horribly boring. Jackie Chan's appeal comes from his comedic talents.

haha, yea Segal is a good fighter, especailly in Belly of the Beast, but jackie chan's fighting is real, i think he fights best with weapons, atleast thats what he is doing in his newest movie The Myth Razz

I know I'm quoting this from Aug, but after seeing Tony Jaa's 2 recent movies, I gotta say hes the best. Damn I love elbows and knees. Very Happy I have never seen a guy break so many bones and cut so many tendons in 10 minutes. He's just amazing.

I hate to break it to you but Jackie Chan is trained in numerous martial arts styles. His style happens to be a mix of boxing, hapkido, wing chun, and judo but he does know a lot of other stuff. Have you see him in Police Stories or Drunken Master? The last fight in Drunken Master II was amazing, and I could watch it all day.

Comparing Seagal to Arnold is like... comparing apples and oranges. The ways they fight are supposed to go in two different directions. When Arnold fights he is up against a large brute like him self or he is over powering smaller foes. Seagal uses his Aikido to control or throw his opponents, taking on a much more technique-oriented approach. Yes... Aikido is a very technique-oriented martial art.
