HALO I & II

Does anyone play this? It's got a kickass single player, and an amazing online play. Though it's a first-person-shooter, it's got one awesome storyline. Come on people MASTER CHIEF!!! Plus the soundtrack kicks ass no matter what you say. Anyone read the books?

The original Halo is better, somehow. I don’t know, but I don’t really like the Halo II.

The Original Halo story is better than Halo 2.
Halo 2's story is shorter, but has more weapons and maps. It also allows you do dual wield.

I've finished both halo's.

I tried to get into Halo 2 but the joystick control for FPS gameplay is just way too much of a learning curve for my tastes. If microsoft creates a mousepage and keyboard setup for xbox I might take interest though.

A mouse pad and keyboard system would be interesting, no? I mean for one it would attract a lot of PC players to the console, and make it easier and more enjoyable for those who like playing PC games.
It's true the first game had a better storyline, but if you read the books, then you might understand a bit more, not a lot just a bit. Plus I think it's more the multiplayer gaming that makes this game so great.

I have to agree with CGY that the first Halo was a better game.

Why? Simply because in Halo2 you had to play part of the game without Master Cheif...it just wasn't the same finishing the game without him...T_T

The good thing about the first Halo was the weapons are more...advanced. The Covenant weapons in halo 2 kinda...sucked. The AI is kinda dumb too...the Elites in Halo doesn't get their plasma rifles overheat, but in Halo2 they tend to always overheat their weapons.
Dual wield is kinda neat but it's kinda distracting, it lowers your POV of the area but a nice tactic in some situations.

and the most annoying enemy is the Covenant Sniper(Legendary Mode ONLY!) since I thought I already cleared the area with snipers and then one pops up to kill me in one shot! Secrets are also great in the sequel, like the active camouflage for master Chief(I'm not talking about Arbiter's).

The only thing I can say for the Halo series is that it's really a revolutionary FPS game. Legendary Mode is the best way to fully get the feel to the game without the "Rambo" tactics.

BETTER PISTOL!!!!! Sure the pistol in Halo 1 was freaking uber but c'mon, the weapons in Halo 2 just suck. Dual wielding is crap, too. You can't nade with 2 guns!!! Also, they way they did health in Halo 2 is also very crappy.

well...the Halo 1 pistol was too much I guess...that was my best weapon in legendary. Much like the desert Eagle of CS, with scope. In Halo 2...the pistol is kinda...turned into a mere Glock.
and the Health meter was a very big help since it acts as your secondary shield(not really) but it was sure useful.
The Shotgun was also less powerful...you nedd to be VERY close to get a 1 shot kill with it in HL2. it reloads slower, looks ugly too.

I think halo 3 nedds new better weapons. Things that should should stay are:
Battle Rifle, HL1 shotgun, health Meter, and Energy Sword. a new grenade perhaps?

I say bring back the machine gun from Halo 1. Sure it didn't shoot straight, but at least it provided the barrage of bullets you needed.

Whoa lots of people prefer Halo 1 or 2 I'm surprised. Me I loved Halo 2 a lot more then Halo 1. I loved the idea of dual wielding. That way in multiplayer I could dual wield plasma pistol with any other weapon. Bam take down their shield and then they're an easy kill . Also I liked playing as the covenant AND I liked the fact that there was boss battles in it.
