yes, I used a big word in the title. If you don't know what it means, that just means you need to read less manga and more normal books. Just Kidding! 
Anyway, It has been a while since I saw the awesome-ness known as Princess Mononoke, but I have wondered all this time: Where did the warrior-guy get his super-strength from? I mean, he opened that gate all by himself, while injured and Carrying the girl! Was his whole village like that, was he God-blessed, or did the infection give him the strength? I just want to hear everyone's opinion, maybe someone will think of a good reason. |

it was the infection some how gave Ashitaka supernatural strength. the forest gods didnt give a damn about him, did they?

| sayoku yeah your right ashitaka got his power from the curse that was going to kill him the frist time in the movie was when he shot the arrow at the samurai and the cursed are was acting up then took the samurai arms off then later on in the same battle he was leaving the village and shot another arrow and took that samuais head off and the other samurai said "a demon" |

| yes, yes, I rmmember all tof that; I just wanted to hear other people's opinions, as my friends cannot seem to agree why he was so strong. Personally, I agree with you; it just makes the most sense. |

| I think it was a mixture between the curse and his willpower. The curse did give him super-strength, but it was his determination that allowed for him to push open the gate while he was badly injured. |
