they started off really well, i heard some of their demos, but then they went mainstream...... there new stuff for the most part sucks... but there are a few songs on their new albums that i kinda like

Eh...... I like MCR myself, and not cause their "Emo". Hell, I HATE emo music mostly, minus one or two bands. But seriously, why waste the time to say "I hate this band, they suck."? Why not make a thread about something you LIKE? Confused

alright first of all, mcr isn't horrible, but their stuff tends to get played out.

second of all, they are not emo. (i cannot emphasize this enough - THEY ARE NOT EMO.) they don't even brush the tip of emo. emo is more like bright eyes and brand new. of course, all bands that end up going mainstream and manage to get to the number one spot on TRL tend to get bashed.

I also hate Green Day simply for the fact that they've tried to go all poitical now. I mean that's cool and everything if you started your band out that way, but theyre just jumping on the anti bush thing to sell records....

oh green day green day green day... i got into them a few years ago. the only possible way to truly enjoy their music is if you:
1. listen to their older songs (nothing off of american idiot)
2. don't listen to it in excess

COHEED ISN'T EMO EITHER! errrrrrgh

oh and the new mcr video is cool. ghost of you or something like that.

To be brutally honest- the first time I hear MCR I thought they were a joke. Now, I think they are literally a joke, a great scam perpetrated on us by the record labels just to prove that people will listen to anything as long as they have the image/high budget music video's and album production. I mean honestly, they must be laughing their asses off, they found a band with no musical talent or charisma, picked them up and with minimal effort on both their and the bands part, and now they're making millions. the one thing that all music genres (apart from emo) have in common is their hate of emo bands, emo music and emo fans. oh yeah, and emo fashion. i can testify that on music forums, nothing unites forumers better than a rant against emo
