This game is freaking awesome.

Good points:

The music is still awesome.
It's much longer than the first game.
You can make your katamari absolutely $%^$ing HUGE in the last levels.
You can still roll up people.
New stages.
More than 3 levels this time.
The story is like being on acid, but without the nasty side effects.

Bad points:

That stupid get-the-biggest-xxx-you-can-but-the-first-thing-that-even-remotely-resembles-it-finishes-the-stage type level is back. Just roll up something small and move on.
I hate the voices.
It costs $10 more than the first one.

Play it, and you'll see. Sure, it sounds like a stupid concept, but some of the best and most loved video game classics sounded really dumb on paper:

Drop a bunch of blocks on top of each other; when they fill in a line, delete them. - Tetris

Italian plumber jumps on the heads of turtles in order to save a princess. -Mario

Hedgehog frees animals from being turned into robots. He protects himself by holding on to rings. - Sonic

It's true, it seems moronic, but give it a shot. At the very least, play the first game. It sold for $20 new a year or two ago, so you might as well go for it now that a used copy will be $5-10. Trust me, it's a great game. Especially for anyone who hangs around an anime site; it's loaded with weird japaneseness.
