There's something about listening to a song in a different language that makes it infinitely more bearable...being that at least it isn't immediately obvious that they're spouting crap, even if you suspect them to be doing so. >_>

Not hindered of course by the fact that I've found the majority of Western music to be downright atrocious in all aspects as of late.

japanese music is just imitating ours, just look/listen to half of their bands, they dress, sing, and even have a smimilar over all sound, as if they are sampling, besides i like to listen to music in which i can understand the lyrics

English of course, but when i'm bored or stressed out, I listen to some japanese/korean songs since they seem quite mellow.

I really like american bands, but I think that the greatest band ever is Orange Range (a Japanese group that has various types of musiq).

I think traditional asian music lacks energy but is good to calm yourself so it s worth listenning to it when you try to sleep.
To me, jazz, rock and classic are the best musics (with french techno Wink )!

i dont know what it is about japanese music that is so addicting? i literally stopped listening to everything on the radio and in america to listen to what was going on in japan. i love the way the language sounds, and i love almost everyfemale vocalist. although they mostly sound the same... i really dont like rap, but j-rap is actually alright , mostly because they babble nonsense (those who have heard Loosey from Bakuretsu Tenshi know what I am talking about)

j, k, c, whatever pop/rock. i like it because it's so upbeat and addictive. i don't really care if i can't understand what they're saying, because a lot of the time i can't decode english songs to get what they're really saying anyway.

I pick asian music, cuz I'm not the type of guy who cares about lyrics so much when listening to a song, unless I'm really into it. What I care most is how it sounds, and English music has been sliding recently IMO with only a few good songs here and there.

lol, good point! Since this is an anime forum.

Well, I've been listening to only anime songs, so, Japanese songs essentially. Why? There's probably a reason, but I can't think of it right now. The only English songs I listen to are dance and techno songs which have no vocalist! Hehe, I love Gigi Agastino - I'll Fly with You. The rest of my 500 or so songs are anime, or anime related.

The reason is probably because it's unique! You cannot mistake one song for another, even if it's the first few seconds of the song. Plus, the intros aren't so long and if you read some lyrics, some are really inspiring. While the current English songs nowadays are about sex, partying, and more sex. Although I would like to know what they're saying (in the anime songs), I think the Japanese language is beautiful.

Anime songs cover a wide range of genres. Classical or J-rock being my favourite such as Yuki Kajiura (thanks Kaiser!) or AznKungfu Generation. KOTOKO also gets credit, I love her poppish songs, they have a techno background too.

I prefer anime songs mostly because they're original.
