Has anyone ever read a manga they thought was great at first, but after a few volumes you don't know why you're reading it anymore because you can already predict what will happen in the next?
I'm doing that right now with King of Hell. I thought it was good at first, but then I realized there was something missing... the main character lacks conflict after the (I think the) third volume. C'mon, give the readers a plot twist or something! |

| Well, that may apply to many manga, like the action one, such as Naruto, or others, as we know by our hearts that the main characters will always win in the end... |

| True, however the main guy isn't almost invincible. There is some degree of conflict the protagonist has to overcome. |

You read FLCL, didn't you? I tried making sense out of it, and I gave up after the second try. _________________ Life is an opportunity waiting to happen |

| Ichigo 100% had some predictable points and some unexpected points. It was still really good though. |

Recently, I've read My-Hime. I thought the concept was cool, the characters were very attractive. It's a very good manga.
Although the plot line is not linear, the intentions are somewhat predictable.
Sometimes so predictable I thought about skipping the chapter, well I didn't, I liked the drawings very much.
Well if it's not too predictable, I guess I'd live with it.

| actually i dont care about the missing link inside story line. What i care is the main character must win and happy ending. I dont like hikaru no go because the main character (hikaru) always crack by other character (for example his main rival, touya akira) thats way i send mail message to manga creator if he/she plan to continue the series please change the title from hikaru to akira. |

it is sometimes great to predict as we may not sure whether it will eventually happen or not +_+ it is just a part of the excitement ^^! _________________ Love might not always end the way you want but if you follow and believe in your heart, you'll one day find the right

while i can' t predict what will happen at the end of the story, the monotony of quite a few mangas drive me away. for example:
dragonball z - bad guys come, fighting, good guys die, good guys power up, good guys win. that's basically what happens during each fight.
fruits basket - a messed up sohma comes, tohru fixes them. every volume. |

Inuyasha
Dont get me wrong i think its a great manga, but it gets predictable.
Inuyasha always uses the Wind scare and fights a monster that has jewel... same thing over and over again. _________________ *·.¸·†·¸.·*¨¨*·.¸·†·¸.·*

Have to agree with ya on the Inuyasha thing, although I like the manga, it does get a bit predictable. Heck, most everything is predictable, the fun part about manga is finding a really good one that keeps you on your toes! lol.
I like predictabilitly sometimes, its comfortable and makes for easy, relaxing reading. |

Naruto had great promise in the beginning, but imo it deteriorated somewhat after the first mission. IY gets a bit like soap opera at some point too, unfortunately...
To be quite honest, most mangas do tend to get a bit predictable at some point. That was why I was so surprised by Gantz |
