Tales of Legendia

This is the newest entry in the "Tales of..." series, and was released just awhile ago in Japan for PS2. Many sites reviewing it are saying it's the best Tales game yet. Except Famitsu, but they gave Nintendogs a perfect, what do they know.

Anyways, they've added new features, such as throws and custom skills. The battles have gone back to 2D. Also, the story has been split into a much faster format, with a main storyline of about 30 hours, with 25 hours of character quests afterwords. They've gotten rid off "Fetch" quests, and everything is fast and to the point. The only downside I've heard of is no multiplayer... very dissapointing.

Anyways, it's due out First Quarter of next year in the states, around Febuary I believe. So, has anyone else heard of this game, and who's looking forward to it?

Yeah, I'm looking forward to this game although I have never tried any of the Tales series..... Ahhh, most of the good games came out next year for certain reason Crying or Very sad

Here's the japanese commercial, which shows some good fight scenes and some anime clips. Just scroll down, click free, then scroll down again and wait for the timer to run down and begin the download.

The Tekken team helped develope the battle system, so yay for that.

Why did namco choose to put this game onto the ps2 when gamecube clearly had fans for the tales games. I do not understand. The least namco could have done was port the game over to the gc, but that does not look like it will happen, which sucks because I really like Tales of Symphonia.

I think they put it on PS2 cuz it makes more revenue. Can't wait for the new Tales tho.

I think you guys are not indoctrinated too well in the Tales series. There has been many Tales games released on the PS2. 2 Tales games were released way before Tales of Symphonia was released on the gamecube, those are Tales of Destiny 2 (tale of destiny 2 in ameria was actually tales of eternia) and Tales of Rebirth. There is a very big Tales fan base on the ps2

Good god, a 25-40 hour RPG? That simply sounds fantastic. I have already put over 60 hours on Dragon Quest VIII and I am only half way through. I like values in games but I don't have THAT much time to play games.

The last Tales game I played was on the Gamecube. It was great. This game will be good as well.

Im planning on getting Tales of Legendia once i first playing my ff game because ive been looking forward to getting Tales of Legendia.This game just like the other "tales" game that was sold for the gamecube.I think its about the same as the other one but all i know is that the char is different.And i just start liking "tales" games.

For a while I've been thinking to myself

"If Tales of Abyss comes out to U.S. (if it even does..), I'd rather get that over Tales of Legendia"

And that's what I thought.

...but now I think I might reconsider...

Tales games are awesome, my favourite has been Symphonia, especially since it had coop. Pity my PS2 broke recently so i wont be getting legendia.

I finish the game in 10 days. IT is humourous and the plot is way better than the recent final fantasy series. Also, the anime movie rock. The only down fall (from what i heard of those who compare this to the other tales series) is that the main guy sucks.(i don't agree though Laughing

)
