actually what most people think of when they say "communism" is Socialism. More to come below.
Socialism is a great idea. Actually, most ideas are great in theory, but horrible in practice, and Socialism is one of those. Angelking described the problems above: everyone is treated equal, whether they are equal or not. It's a lot like the Borg collective or UFP in the Star-Trek universe.(yes, the two are more similar than you'd think.)
Communism is what happens when Socialist governments start to fall apart. More accurately, Communism is the violent enforcement of socialism. It's not a very large step, but it makes a bad problem much, much worse.
So now, not only do we have a bunch of lazy people who do only what is needed, but you're executed for trying to be original. Now that I think of it, the Borg collective in Star Trek is a lot more like this.

The number of pictures of a balding old man are so numerous that they would be like more than a billion since pratically every chinese has a picture of that fat balding old guy

heh never thought of that. I hate commies I agree look at north korea there in bad shape and cuba people try to escape from there I dont see people trying to escape the US (yes I think US is #1) communism is a bad thing well from my view

Um yeah.... that's why in a 1992 poll on many Chinese students revealed that most of them thought of Michael Jordan as a more prominent historical figure than Chairman Mao. There is no blind worship of Mao by the younger generation anymore and capitalism has made deep inroads within the country. It's nothing like North Korea where a majority of the population, young and old, look upon Kim Jong Il as almost a Godlike figure.
I've been to China many times and there's no real signs of oppression or fascism (some places are as modernized as any.) If anything, the problems there are the lack of social mobility and government programs for social welfare.

Look i feel its wrong to force people the same, I dont think it's right.
Im one who likes to be free(to a extent), but there are people who want people to directed, thats how communisum is made but both ways somone looses, thats why there is communisum and there is democracy.
but trying to think everyone is equal and same is wrong, its people who think that, are people who dont realize what that mean's it means.
It means: that no matter how hard you try no matter how far you go you may never acomplish your goal, you will be a lost spirit, in a lost world not able to change your place, but to stay as equal as the lazy guy beside you even thou you try so hard.
THIS IS ONLY MY OPPINION PLEASE DONT TAKE ANY AFFENCE TO THIS SINCE I AM NOT UNDER RULE OF IT I am JUST EXPRESING ON WHAT I KNOW ABOUT THE SUBJECT

I didn't mean any offence...its just my personal opinion thats all....I wouldn't be able to live with myself if i don't show my true feelings(or wateva bullshits on my mind) all the time. I just need to express my own ideas thats all.

hmm.. communism is very appealing to the ppl during the industrial era
because many didn't have equal opportunities (as many nowadays still don't have) so that means if a poor person doesn't have enough money to go to school and doesn't know a single word, that person will work in poor paying jobs... and since technology isn't all that great back then... thousands' work in factories for their entire lives.. and chances are their children and grandchildren will suffer the same way
+ little rights for the workers

has the assumption that u and the lazy bum have the same equal opportunities... and that the lazy person is a bum because.. well.. that person is lazy and is that person's own fault...

but there are also many ppl in many areas where there are little social services that has high availbility (which means... in order to learn stuff and get health benefits... u'd need to pay quite a sum of money that many simply cannot afford even if they sell their souls to the devil)... when those ppl don't have much education.. employers won't hire them... except for very low paying jobs... which then translates into little to no money...... yesh... u see the prob...
this is happening everywhere... even now
just that it's --better-- now..
but there are still lots of ppl affected
