Personally, I think, at least Fukuda did a little something to not send Gundam SEED Destiny crashing right into the depths of Hell itself.
Yup, I agree that Final plus was pretty much only Fukuda attempting to save face. He was more or less sucessful, as FP has met with better acceptance than the original ep50, but a less-mediocre finale doesn't save the buch of clumsy episodes before it. Althoguh a new SEED will probaly feature the same director he'd better not screw up like with Destiny. Right... I can hardly believe I wrote that. He'll probably screw up anyway. Who is up for more stock footage battles and recaps?
After reading that, I wish that Tomino will be the one directing the new SEED series. And we'll finally get to see decent storyine, plus a mass character killing spree.
Is that true that there will be another SEED anime this year... i hope it doesnt suck as in GSD... cause in comparison GS is the better one but still they got to work on their endings!!! _________________ To Know me is to love me...

If they choose to adapt Destiny's formula, then the outcome(s) of it will be very much predictable. Like so:
i) A new character will be introduced
ii) He / she will first be using a battery operated mobile suit.
iii) A number of episodes later, Kira, Shin, Athrun and co. returns
iv) Kira and Athrun will use Strike Freedom and Infinite Justice respectively. Shin uses the Strike Rogue.
v) The show will then focus on the new character's rivalry between himself / herself and Kira / Athrun / Shin.
vi) New character soon upgrades Gundam, naming it Gundam Eternity.
vii) A huge fight ensues. Victory goes to the new character. Kira and co somehow escapes, unscathed.
viii) Kira upgrades to Super Strike Freedom, Athrun upgrades to Infinite Knight Justice. Shin gets Duel Destiny. Mwu gets Akatsuki Blitz. They fight on Lacus's words about freedom and justice.
ix) A battle ensues. The new character somehow gets shafted to the wrong side of justice. Mwu blocks a cannon aimed at ArchAngel again.
x) Kira and co. wins. New character shakes hands with Kira and co..
xi) The story ends. Kira wins again.

Let's hope that it DOESN'T turn out that way.
it not like it really matters if they(Fukuda and his wife) use the same concept as the Gundam Seed series but as long as it is Gundam, I am willing to watch it. they should cut back on the reuse scenes and no damn fillers/recap.... it just ruin the show. although this might not happen it would had been great if it did. btw, they should include some Astary characters into the new series... you know Kira has a brother named Canard(consider a fail experiment/ultimate coordinator).
i agree that the huge Kira fanbase ruined Gundam Seed Destiny since Fuduka decide that he want to please the Kira fans by giving Freedom and Kira an upgrade and portray Shinn and Zaft co. of being on the wrong side of justice even though there intentions were good... to bring peace between the naturals and coordinators throught the use on genetics or something like that. there should had been a limit to the amount of fan service that was given.

Well, I think Fukuda's wife as the Head Writer for the story is a bad idea. While I'm fine with Gundam SEED itself, Destiny is a different matter. Like I said, in my opinion, Kira's fanbase is one of the contributing factors to Destiny's downfall. It started out great, almost perfect; potraying Shin as the soldier who lost everything and is fighthing to gain what was lost to him. As the show progressed, Kira overtook Shin's role as the main character, and Shin and co. got shafted aside more and more.
It made Shin look as if he were created solely for the purpose of making Kira and Lacus the ones in the 'right', and he himself is in the 'wrong', while Kira retains the main character status. If that was that was the writing crew's intention from the start, the first episode should've revolved around Kira, then to Shin, that would've given us a good idea of who the main character will be. But it happened the other way, and that, I believe, wasn't a good idea. Based on that belief, I still think Fukuda's and his wife's formula for Destiny should not be carried over to the third SEED series. It's still my opinion, though.
An animation to the Astray series would be awesome. The story itself is well thought-out. Additionally, the mecha designs are beyond badass. A mobile suit wielding an oversized katana? Another one with a sword + gatling manipulator? A ZAKU with katars mounted on the shoulders? And that's just a few of the Astray mech examples. I'm all in for the animated Astray series, as long as nothing is changed from the story. And the minimal use of stock footages.
If I remember correctly, Canard isn't related to Kira. He's just one of the failed 'Ultimate Coordinator' "products". Consider Canard somewhat a 'similar product' to Kira, but a failure.

As I've mentioned earlier the only solid info I've had on a sequel to destiny is from the Gunota headlies back in december, which said that a 3rd seed project had been given greenlight for production (the first step). I think that all the preparations take quite a while, so October 2006 may be a bit too soon for it to air.
Either way, this discussion does not fit this thread. If you want to comment on an upcoming SEED series (which is still unnamed, Eternity is a name that internet rumors gave it back in august)Please continue n the thread here:

Few gundams? let's recap (something GSD does a lot!!!).
That is 13 Gundams. To me that is a lot of them. And that didn't count the new Zakus, Goufs, daggers, Widams, Murasames or DOMs, which are grunts and not gundams.
That is plenty of new Mobile suits to me. The original Gundam series had only one gundam (THE gundam), and Gundam Wing had 9. I think that the only one to have more would be G-Gundam. _________________

I have a few Seed Destiny based Q's that I was hoping someone could answer me:
First, does anyone know the title of the song that's used as the battle theme at the beginning of the last episode? I can't seem to find it in my collection of the OSTs...
Secondly, out of the Seed and Destiny based PS2 games released in Japan, which one is rated the highest? Just ordered a magic slide online so I wanted to give one of these a go... How tough is it navigating the game when you don't know Japanese?
(btw, anyone know where I can get these images online? I don't mind ordering them over ebay or whatever, i would even appreciate a few links where you can by these games online, but I still would like to be able to demo them... all the torrent links i found have no seeders...)
Thirdly, I've seen previews for Gundam World on the PS3... Is this title based on the world of Seed? Or is it a combination of diffrent series, or not Seed related at all?

aSagi - but there is still a chance that Canard is related to Kira.... you remember that ep. from Gundam Seed where Mwu and Kira went into this abandon colony which included a lab. at that time they were chasing Rau... he also explain to Mwu how he is the clone of Mwu's father and how is Kira is the ultimate coordinator and that many of his siblings were sacrifice for his creation....
btw, Hyperion Gundam would had owned if it was equiped with beam shield instead of lightwave shield and Neutron Jammer Canceler along with nuclear fission reacter instead of a standard energy battery.
