This is a fantastic series isnt it? I think the only reason people dont think its as funny as family guy is because it requires much more knowledge and thinking to get all the jokes. People dont like to think much anymore... the ones that come to mind on this site are you, itachi kun, and quosimos.

American Dad is alright... though it reminds me a lot of Family Guy.. probably cause the same creators of Family Guy made American Dad... the best character on the whole series is probably that fish.. or Roger the alien.

Personnally i see American Dad as funnier than the fourth season of family guy. The first three on DVD are amazing but the latest one... It seems to be all playoffs of what they established as funny in the last seasons. American Dad however is a simple expirament to see how over the top they can go with a relativly similar idea. well i'm a huge fan of seth macfarlan, did i spell that right? anyhow, yes i hated it at first- didn't understand the psuedo gay et refferrence or the drawn out "my dad is a cia agent and i want to rebel hippy daughter". but now that the characters have started to dig deep an grow into their character- it is starting to make sense and dare i say become a bit humorous.

although- it's just like seth to have "american dad's" daughter boinking his cia boss.

lol I hated it at first as well, but after a few more episodes I began to understand the humor a little bit better, and eventually found it to be funnier than family guy. ALthough I have not seen it in a LONG time. I usually work and I am without TiVO...

I think American pushes the line between funny and disgusting.
