Who are your favorite manga villians and why?

Much as we all love the heros of manga series, every once in a while along will come a villain Twisted Evil

that we really like. their antics may be amusing, they might be strangely dressed, or their back story is one you can sympathize with.

For whatever the reason, these villains make an impression on us; some huge, some small but always memorable.

What I want to know are these two things

1: Who is the villain ? list their character name, and maybe the series that they are from.

2: What made him/her so interesting to you? And PLEASE say something more illuminating, or at least more thought out than "cuz he look cool" or "cuz he's a bad#%". I want you to explain your reasons. Let us know the specific details of why liked this or that villain.

please write as if the people reading don't know anything about the characters or series; no matter how cheesy, or off kilter it is. just give us some more information so we know were you are coming from.

i'd have to say legato from trigun. his mental powers were beyond comparison being able to kill/control everyone in a city in the blink of an eye if he wanted to. he was cool, calculated and funny Twisted Evil

that's what struck me about him.

He is the villian from naruto, but his cool and he is very gifted and strong.

I also agree with Yagami Raito as my most favorite vallian.

Reason-> he is a smart thinker, he was cool, he manipulate people around him, his plans are superb (acting as a good person to mask himself was tough i think)

I'd have to say Alucard from Hellsing.

I know, he's on the 'good' side, but his personality is not good at all. He has absolutely no qualms and enjoys death and blood like any good psychopath out there. He's more on that unrefined killer side, unlike Yagami Raito whom everyone seems to be cheering loudly, but unless you consider his bond to his master, he feels absolutely nothing in killing anyone. The only reason I believe he can be considered good is because he has to obey Integra, and she's a good character.

Meh, I'll probably change my mind tomorrow. My favorite characters change with my mood.

Thanks for the replies guys. Some of the replies are very interesting, but I would like to see some more entries that are longer than a sentence.

While posts like this show interest and enthusiasm, they somewhat lack in information.

Reason: He isnt like some other manga villains with super powers or what not, he is just a genius who uses his superior intellect to get what he wants. Its a breath of fresh air in my opinion. Oh and also the fact that he is suppose to be the protagonist of the story..but is technically the antagonist as well.
