Well Kaiser, if it helps you in your desicion to watch Twin Spica, I'll tell you about my experience with the manga...
At anime expo the guy who created the manga was at the mediaworks booth for an autograph session. I had never picked up the book myself but a friend told me that he was enjoying the anime so I decided to pick up a copy of the manga and get it signed and maybe give it to him.
The problem with this was that on the way home I kinda started to enjoy the story... (That on top of him signing the book to my name as well. His English writing was pretty impressive...)
Anyway the manga really is pretty good. I also managed to catch an episode on TV when I woke up early one morning. It is a little different but pretty interesting. I am interested to see the anime myself but that will have to wait until I return home.
On top of that the OP theme is really catchy. ^___^ |

It's not a popular series among subbers but really it is one of the best coming out at the moment. Very interesting and touching and in my opinion a lot better than soap like KGNE. The only slight downside is the visuals but they don't matter at all. |

yea...the animation seem a bit outdated, but its a really good heartwarming, touching story about a girl who wants to be an astronaut, any more i say would spoil it
but this is the most under rated anime of all time.....well that i know of
i was thinking of getting FMwS.....but drama and 52 sumthing eps juz kinda.....gave me doubts _________________

I just watched that episode titled 'Eternal Snow' from FMwS.
I have to say this show tops everything I've seen so far in anime. I never knew they could come up with something so horribly tragic as this. |

OMG... I just finished this series this morning... #1 on my list of emotional anime, that's for sure. Ep 42 (Eternal Snow) was possibly one of the most tragic episodes I've ever seen, and coupled with the beautiful and melancholic song. Shocking and full of emotions, and quite depressing for a while too. (and supposedly the manga is even more so).
If not for the satisfying and relatively happy ending I'd be totally wasted...

Heh.. Darkhunger joins the ranks of people who have seen Full Moon wo Sagashite =)
Really this series shows why I love anime so much.
I also took a look at Twin Spica and I have to agree with haro this series is really underrated. Episode 5 was really emotional as well. The story is great but the animation style is a bit weird, I'd love to see more of Twin Spica. |

| Have either of you seen all of RahXephon? And if so, how would you rate ep 42 of FMwS in comparison to ep 19 of RahXephon? I haven't seen FMwS but you guys are sure making me want to. |

Hmmm.. ep 19 is sad in Rah Xephon as well huh? Thats too bad.. I stopped watching it around ep 14/15. I just might pick the whole series up again.
Another good place to check would be in our anime reviews section:
Rah Xephon is sitting at #8 on our top 50 anime list
and Full Moon wo Sagashite is sitting at #5 on our top 50 anime list.
People's reviews should give you a clearer idea of what each series is like. |

Yea I know, I'm not that much of a n00b.
Just asking which people found were more tragic. I might start watching FMwS but the 52 episodes and cuteness factor of the anime aren't very enticing for me. |

Well I think both episodes are pretty damn tragic. But IMO Ep 42 hits home much harder due to the amount of build up before it. Ep 19 is tragic, but since we didn't see ______ that much before that episode I just think 42 was sadder (plus there's the music element). Oh and there's the fact that
the RahXephon ending pretty much negates everything that happened in that episode
. Don't get me wrong, Ep 19 made RahXephon one of my favorites too. But I guess it's just a bit hard to compare at this point. |

- Pita Ten (Last eps ;p)
- Saikano (this one my tears really rolls ;_
- Ayashino Ceres |
