that may be but crying throughout the movie or play does not make a tragedy a tragedy. berserk was a sad story about a man who could not escape his dark destiny no matter how much he wanted love or peace he was destined to be a killer. it is one the best tellings of that kind of tragedy i can think of.

boy you totally missed the point of berserk. it must have just flew right over your head if all you thought you understood was that. he was good at killing and he did stop but he was drawn back in -- the only thing he ever wanted was to be his own man and follow HIS dreams instead of other peoples amibitions or desires. in the end his dreams were crushed and he was left becoming the thing he tried to escape.

I just finished watching saikano 20 mins ago and I m feeling really depressed right now and I have to say that this is the most emotional/dramatic anime I have ever seen and it is probably the first anime I ever really made me cry (not even Kimi Ga Nozomu Eien made me really cry)...and I almost never cry...at anything!! I have this empty feeling inside and really needed to talk to someone or let it out and this is why I m digging out an old thread. I m shocked at how much the ending of saikano affected me emotionally. I m really sad so I m gonna go cry my self to sleep....jks.

One vote for Kimi Ga Nozomu Eien and saikano. The both anime are really making me cry. Another anime that make me the same feeling is grave of the fireflies.

Heh just finished Saikano but really didn't get me.. I feel like it's just a tear jerker wannabe(just curious tho what made you guys feel so depressed/cry I mean what part? Me just a super tiny bit but just like click is when Akemi died not sad about it tho. Yeh the series feels like random stuff to me and the chars are bleh not so much development)... Good Lord how many times did they cry in the entire series...
Air TV even crushes this one...

What made me cry in Saikano was rite at the very ending. (I dont exactly wanna say it cuz it would spoil it for others). Before the ending, I was like meh, not so emotional but after, it just left me thinking..then the tears just came rolling Crying or Very sad lol. I guess sometimes I have to give in to girly emotions hehehehe.

I'm watching Air TV right now and I really don't know what it is that makes people say the emotions is up to the KgNE standards. The only shows that made me cry is The O.C. season finale( not an anime ), and when that villian( Molly's boyfriend ) in Sailor Moon died. I was young when that happened though but it was still so sad to me.

Kimi ga Nozomu Eien was the most emotional series I watched so far. I'm going to have to check out Saikano. I also felt a little emotional when Natsuki died in the last episode of Magical Canan and Chihaya was crying saying "You promised you wouldn't leave me." A tear was almost out.

Kimi ga Nozomu Eien
Saishuu Heiki Kanajou (Saikano)

Both this series really makes me cry. Both these series really touches my heart and breaks it at their endings and climax.
I would like to give some credits to AIR for being a touching anime as well... well... so far so good... can't wait for upcoming touching anime ^^
