Craptastic Dorms

I have a question for all current and ex-college students out there. Do the dorms suck as bad as the ones where I live? In my school, which will remain namesless for the time being, and particularly in my room, the living conditions are getting to be pretty bad.

The light's only recently started working, my phone doesn't work, I've got a whole assortment of different kinds of bugs, including several different species of cockroach and a few earwigs, and just recently, sewage for the next-door bathroom has begun seeping up through my floor and forming puddles around my room.

Now, I don't want to be a whiner, but this seems kinda bad, in my opinion. I was wondering, for those of you out there who've lived in college dorms at one point or another, if it's usually better, worse, or the same in other dorms. Thanks.
