ff7 was a good game but so was ff8 (minus the love/hate relationship with the Gf's..that was a pain). I have to say though that i originally thought that the character design for squall were a lot better than clouds...but after watching ff ac i have to say cloud hands down.

Cloud would win in my opinion both lvl 99 with ultimate weapons, armours + spells. Only way squall would win is if he cheated and used a hero-war which makes him invincible for a few minutes lol. And cloud beated the koolest villain ever created, sepiroth, so how can he lose?

Hmmm Coud Strife V.S. Squall Leonhart...

Each one has good qualities... well first off, I have to say that Squall proabably has more experience fighting since his in SOLDIER.... but Squall is also part of SeeD...

Hmm.... ok how about Cloud has a girlfriend..... oh wait.... he doesn't...... but Squall still has Rinoa...... hmm.... so Squall may still win cause he has support and motivation from the one he loves....

AH!!! I GOT IT!!!

Well.... ahem ahem..... the reason why Cloud one is because after fighting Sephiroth, he still doesn't have any scars!!! As you can see from FFVII:Advent Children the movie.. while Squall has one scar across his face after only fighting against only Seifer... who even isn't that last boss.

So that's how I came to a conclusion... HWAHAHAHAHA battle scars!!!

and I think Rinoa will become Ultimecia ^___^

Cloud would easily be the winner. He defeated the greatest villian of all time. And wheres the movie of squall. I dont see one. Then again it would be sora who defeats them both (as seen in kingdom hearts). Plus Sora is about to have a third game in which he is the main charecter so there Sora wins.
PS: Sora also defeats Sephiroth so that proves he is the best

ok...when it comes to normal combat Cloud'll surely be the winner since it was seen in KH...while our "Mr. Lonely" fights in a "cool" way or any other way you want to name it.

Cloud really is the MAN whne i comes right down to it compared to Squall's Simple sttacks.

but both were defeated by Sora...that's a shame to you both! Even defeated Sephiroth too...what a shame...what a shame!

squall looks lik ziefer. cloud. he is too high up inthe sky. cloud would win. he is very mature, you remember whe Ziefer, called zell a chiken wuss, and called Squall a boy that just reached puaperty. becuase he ask about the girl he saw in the hall. LOL. well. has magic materias, squall have to draw. and cloud have a better motercycle, squall, he dosn't have 1. could have the ultima weapon. I can go eather way squall can absorb any magic cloud has and use it agents him. In sword style squall all the way cloud's sword is just big and squall has a gun blade!!!

Just to clear things up for some people who hates FF8 just because of junctioning and GF issues.
Lot of ppl say GFs were very annoying and useless and stuff.
They are annoying to watch over and over when you use them for summoning, but that was just one of the things you use GFs for. After disk1 or 2, you rarely need to use the GFs for damage during battles.
In fact, you'd be an idiot to use them for dealing damage during the last boss battles.

If you understood even a little bit about junction system, GFs were HUGE boost to your stats and abilities by junctioning them correctly. Even though switching GFs and magics between characters got pretty damn annoying, it was much more fun and way more customizable than FF7's materia system ever was. Oh and I actually had fun playing the minigame triple triad unlike the stupid tetra master in FF9.

All that said, I don't hate FF7, in fact it's one of my favorites along with FF8.
It's just that I get annoyed when people start bashing FF8 as worst FF game just because it was very different than the rest of FF series. And I imagine half of those ppl never even finished the game.
