Well i for one finished both games and i say Cloud Strife hands down. First reason- did u guys actually look at his name? Squall? Wtf
Second reason- ff7 had a wayy better storyline.
Third reason- Well i cant think of any.
Well i did enjoy them equally, but i think ff7 deserves more attention. |

| Dude Squall sucks I'm sorry but Cloud trumps him totally first off the whole idea of a gunblade i ridiculous, (well actually so are giant swords) but anyway Cloud I ubertastic for one thing Cloud kill Speroth who was a GOD or close enough anyway Squall beats... evil Sorceress wow that's pretty damn cool NOT |

comparison between who is the strongest in normal attack + junction and materia = cloud win ( since he have 4x cut, counter mime, unlimited quadramagic and summon knight of the round)
then comparison to whose limit break is faster = squall win (using aura is the fastest)
teammate helps= cloud wins ( great gospel is like cheat to unlimited health )
but if 1 on 1 battle = cloud win ( know he uses 2 great sword in both hand...really strong that guy is)
so majority is still cloud wins the match for sure...

hey wait a sec.
You can't just say could is going to win becasue ff7 has a good story line or your a fan of cloud.
Now i have played both 7 and 8.
Now if they both battle each other squall will win if you look at the two series and their battle system.
-squall he can draw magic and he can draw out "knights of the round table and use it as many times as he wants" he can junction Knights of the round table to his junction and who knows what will happen. Basicly he can use any magic he wants.
-could would run out of mp and have a limit to how many or what magics he use.
-squall has a more dealy limit breaks that hits you 17 or more times that does 9999 and he can use it anytime he wants with aura and his battle sped is beyond cloud with auto haste and the speed juction. so he can unlease killer lion hearts before cloud can even move.
-cloud you have to fill up the gauge
-squall has a more deadly battle system the junction that if you are good you can make a killer character by juctioning the right magic.
-cloud you have to equip materia
one more reason why squall will win he has the item "hero" which makes him yes invincible. that is not a cheat for those ff7 fans. that is the fact and stick with it
so the battle comes down to who can do their limit breaks first becasue they both in a game only have 9999 hp. squall is first with his speed and aura magic
and if you still have a problem
who cares if cloud beat the greatest villian ever created in ff7.
Selphie can beat any boss even cloud, sqaull and sephroth with THE END.
So the strongest character ever created is that whimpy Selphie. |

first of all if squall can draw cloud knight of the table he doesnt have any time to junction it while fighting even it will be draw cloud can still used it...
then let me tell you my ultimate materia combination...
ultimate weapon: hp+, mp+, master command+hp absorb, master command+ mp absorb counter+mime
wizard bangle:final attack+pheonix, w use magic+master magic,w use item, quadra magic + master summon, enemy skill...
acc:ribbon...
this is ultimate combo that what ever you do cloud hp/mp will never fall down... since his hp/mp absorb can also be effect at 4 x cut (proven it connect with 4x cut since 4x cut is also a command materia) so each time he attack his hp will be add by 1000 x 4 and his mp 100 x 4 any attack will made him counter it with mime ability. if happens if cloud die he will also counter it with final attack + pheonix will be resulting he will be revive again
in final fantasy 7 also have ultimate shield name "GUARD" it repels all type of magic and physical attack + with the w use magic he can use one more magic that is haste/fullcure/wall/meteor/tornado/etc...
so this is my ultimate combination materia... (never yet been killed by any monster & weapons...
and you know... caitsith also have instant kill limit break using "slot"
"great gospel" make the party invincible
so... do you really think squall can win with this type of combination...?

Sure he can draw but he cannot junction it immediately so he lose his luck because after that Cloud will move like hell with 4xcut plus mime plus all like Subzero-san mentioned above.Simly say any turn Squall acted will result by counter 4xcut and sure he does get pain in the ass. Who care about out of mp if he can beat Squall in first turn only and like you say both have only 9999hp and imagined if Cloud already deal to you a heavy damages and fully counter-strike( Cloud have Sneak Attack materia to act first and Squall don't have). |

Let's take it physically:
_Cloud use Buster Sword, much stronger and heavier
_Cloud is more handsome
_Cloud has the Geotigsma gene from jenova, who also known as "Calamity from the sky", Squall is normal human being.
_Cloud can woo Aeris, Tifa, Yuffie...and even Barret (if you play properly)
_Cloud is the strongest fighter only second to Sephiroth, but we saw no mentioning about Squall...

To say Squall is normal is taking him too lightly:
-Squall uses Gun Blades, which can be altered into various different, more power types. Since the Buster Sword is heavier, that means it's harder to swing around than the Gun Blade.
-I'd say they're both equally attractive for females to swoon over.
-Squall was raised from childhood to be a SeeD cadet. You can't forget GF's alter the user in FF8 with different powers and abilities. They also had that side effect of slowly draining the memory of it's user. They've been using GF's since a young age too.
-Squall has two females, Rinoa and Quistis(although you don't notice it), that "woo" over him. These two ladies are just as cute and sexy as Rinoa and Aeries are IMO.
-Squall would be the top SeeD Cadet, after besting Seifer several times. Seifer was known to be a real bad ass, but was still bested by Squall.
Well... I find them both Cloud and Squall cool.... so I'll do an eenie meenie miney moe to choose for the poll.

Forgot to mention. If Cloud were to summon KotR on Squall... don't you think Eden wouldn't be a good way to counter it? I'd say Eden would be just as strong as KotR...

in factor of love then cloud has tifa and aerith too..and yuffei seems likes him too and not to forget marlene too...
and the sword uses... currently now cloud uses dual great sword...(i dont know anyone yet using dual great sword than him) and to think logic ... now cloud can uses both his weapon to equipt materia... and with the new active limit break cloud can perform limit break anytime...

Cloud is more experienced and yet he has been exposed to "Mako Energy" besides he is one of the Sephiroth clones. So he have the power and strength
of Sephiroth and maybe exceeding him.

How about Cloud, he also does beat Sephiroth twice including Yazoo, Kadaj and Loz and see how best he did at AC. AWESOME!! and now he is the most and ultimate fighter.
anyway what is terms and conditions of this battle? it is active battle or turn based ? Maybe active battle, the result we need to wait from SE.
But I guess is just unofficial thought only Tee Hee. |
