Blood+ Synopsis & Reviews on Anime-Source
Synopsis - AniDB.net
The war never stops: in a different time, on a different battlefield, hiding deeply into the folds of History… They are called Chiropterans. They can change their form and disguise as human beings, but they are not. They are immortal creatures that feed off blood.
An organization, named Red Shield, has been fighting to exterminate this pestilence, and the struggle has now evolved into something of a much bigger scale.
Okinawa, Japan. Year 2005 - Now.
Saya Otonashi is a high-school girl living peacefully with her family – with one exception: she has no memory of her life except for the past year. One day, a startling event causes her happy life to shatter into pieces.
An enemy to destroy, a mission to accomplish – the vortex of an ancient struggle is dragging Saya back to her destiny. A young and handsome cello player in dark clothes appears – his name is Hagi. The moment he hands Saya a Japanese sword, History starts a new course.
Will Saya be able to restore her memory and find her own identity?
Opinion:
From what I have read this looks like an interesting anime. It combines action and mystery. According to AniDB it is of shounen genre. The animation looks decent and it dosen’t seem the animators have cut corners. If you interested in this anime and want the trailer click Here
I think i will definantly be watching the first few episodes of this.
You can find the AniDB review Here and the animeNfo review Here

well this is another of my "must get" anime... this anime replaced GSD and i think that this anime will not be a dissappointment in terms of action and suspense...
First Impression: The action kinda reminds me of Hellsing a bit, since this anime has is a 52 episode anime, i will think the pace of the story will be a bit slow-going...
definitely in my "must watch" list _________________ ... |

Bloody movie... wonder how they're going to transition that into a TV series. Then again, most anime run on cable networks over in Nihongo, and GSD had its violent moments.
That said, the movie was pretty bad/standard vampire fare. To extrapolate it into a 52 episode series seems risky. Then again, GSD was so bad that this has to be an improvment. Kind of like how FMA balanced the first GS... |

I heard that Hans Zimmer is producing the music on this?
Blood the movie was ok, just left a lot of things unexplained. Hopefully with 52 ep they will not only give us a good story but explain a lot of things that were left unsaid and untold in the movie as far as Saya is concerned.
The reason why I'll be watching this is because I taught the movie had a lot of potential and I hope the series will deliver where the movie only promised. |

I wonder how long surprise horror scenes like in ep1 work before it gets old. A horror show that drags on for a year? There's better be some major events happening every now and then.
ep1 (don't read spoiler if you want to enjoy it!):
Introduction Introduction blabla. However the scenes at the end were worth it. The guy getting grabbed from above while teasing about the monster reminded me instantly of Alien 3 (or was it 2?).
btw that music dude is a pretty good kisser, Saya gives no resistance whatsoever ^^
The music (-ending, what the hell is that?!) is great! As expected of Oscar winning Hans Zimmer. |

The movie you're talking about wouldn't be Blood: The Last Vampire would it? That was pretty bad iirc... Not sure I wanna even give this series a chance. |

I paid full price to see the film in the theater and felt pretty cheated when the credits rolled after only 40 minutes.
As I understood it, the film was a way to test some new technologies, using 3D in traditional animation so the story wasn't as important.
Technically I thought it was impressive and it makes good eye-candy to show friends.
It certainly hints at a lot more story beyond what's shown, so I can see there being more to explore in a series. But much of it is the standard vampire stuff that you can guess just from the hints. So I only hope that they don't spend 52 episodes telling us that we were right in all our guesses. To really work it will need to show us that our assumptions were wrong. |

ok... just watched ep 1, released by Live-Evil
and this doesnt dissappoints me. Early on we are treated to blood galore and massacre. Then it moves on to present time, moving on a slow pace, as we are introduced to Saya and her "family". There are some worthy things to be noticed though, as she needed to go to hospitals regularly to receive blood transfusion or something.
Well this ep ended with her waking up, as the man (who reminded me of Samurai Champloo btw) gave her some blood to drink via a kiss. Next episode will be an interesting one
Definite watch, need some action animes anyway _________________ ... |

| I thought the first episode was very boring. I don't really think it was all that horrifying. I've seen scarier things in my bathroom. But since many of the animes that I want to watch is not being subbed or hasn't come out yet, I probably will give this show another chance. The good thing about this show is that it has much more elegance than all the "amazing" animes in the summer. |

| Thank god there is finally another awesome series out! I've been waiting for a while for something new to blow my socks off, and this one has done it. I never LOVE shows after the first episode, but I can't help it with this one! I'm sure the story will be excellent and the animation is well above par. Plus, who doesn't love blood and violence? I sure do! |
