Nina no longer wanted her powers, for the sake of Erstin, and possibly Arika. Therefore, her daddy was the only one she truly trusted and wanted to do that for her. Unfortunately, it seems that her Gem is still active, and grants her access to the destructive powers of the Harmonium.
he ended up doing it for no reason, somehow it makes it even more gross

How naive of Nina to fall for Nagi's tricks again and again. Everything is now set in action, all awaiting the end. Otome vs. Otome, exactly what Arika always wanted to prevent. Nagi's lies play on Nina's hopes like nothing else can.
Mikoto congratulates Arika on her newfound strength, and therefore, She is *most likely* the most powerful of all otome *not including Mikoto, herself*. How sad it is, that all of those nations now fear Nagi and have allied themselves. Can they not see that it will not get them anywhere? Eventually, Nagi's thirst for power will destroy them as well. Their Otomes cannot withstand the might of the Harmonium, and perhaps... they'll all turn against him?
Some kind of pact will need to be forged between Operation Freedom, and the Aswad. This will come from either Yohko or Arika, or even Mashiro. Mai will not be participating it seems.
Yes, I was cringing my face when I saw the Sergey/Nina relationship scene.
So was I. I was so hoping that it would not go there.
How are they going to wrap all this up in one hour??
Now that I think about it, isn't nagi doing EXCATLY what he did in hime? Its a set up for one to live.. and that is determined by a fight of all of them,where THE ONE kills the rest.

You guys and your low tolerance for what happens everyday kinda weird. Just because it's more taboo for some countries to have things like incest or things like that, doesn't mean that it's just as taboo in Japan. Look, they have plenty of hentai-related works that are there just for that. So why the jaw-drop?
In my opinion, the reason why Sergey did it for Nina, was to ease her pain. She no longer wished to be an Otome, seeing how she destroyed her friends. Besides, they aren't blood related. I know that their bond from such a long time ago almost disqualifies him from taking such action, but that's the power of a father's love for his adopted daughter. Nina's happiness takes precedence over his love for Rena. See it yet?

Actually it is just as taboo in Japan too. It's just that they don't see it as big deal when it's in manga or anime.
The whole taboo related theme is just way too common Japan. Anything that's socially frowned upon is all becoming popular in erotic fantasies, taking forms of anime, manga, and games. It's pretty much where all the forbidden hidden desires take shape in, and that's what I'm worried about.
In anime, there's just way too much forbidden love theme, I don't neccessarily hate it, but it really is slowly breaking down people's moral standards. meh...actually i think the twist is they didnt do anything..... its just "implied" b/c nina strips and sergay gets up and dresses. i think it'd be a real shocker when you find out that nina didn't know much about sex, and sergay didnt have sex w/ her; just made her "feel good"
that way, my dream of a hugeass battle between arika and nina is still possible....

yeah, they, as in the writers, are doing alotta weird stuff......i think my biggest problem with this show is the lack there of action. cuz action scenes can advance the plot alot more. sometimes words just can't solve the problem(dont always believe ur grade school teachers).
i dont know if they shouldave even had mai and mikoto in the series. they dont do anything, and they take away from the overall plot. It's like they're cramming too many characters in a show.

Yeah exactly. They're introducing way too many characters and they're still at it even at ep24! They introduced 3 or 4 in episode 24, and most of these character don't get ANY development at all, all you find out is their names! I think they kinda had to introduce the other two pillars, purely because they said there were five! If they didn't say there were five pillars, then perhaps they wouldn't have introduced them in ep24.
Anyone think that Sergey will play any significant role in the last episode?

But a lot of Otome fans watch b/c of the "cameos" from HiME, so it's not really necessary for developing popular characters like Mai and Mikoto. Then again, they should have done something more for "first time watchers" to explain....
