Kamikura Hiroki was expected to become an artist until he was in high school, but he gave up painting by some reason. Now, he is a college student of Nadeshiko Academy, and studying to become a teacher. He also works as a substitute director of the art club of the same academy’s high school division.

One day, his cousin, Hosen Elise, visits him. Her art talent was appreciated by the academy, and she received a scholarship. She lost her parents when she was a child, and she closed her mind. It was Hiroki who opened her mind, and also found her talent. She cares that he quit painting, and she wants him to paint again.

Meanwhile, Kikyo Kiri, Hiroki’s childhood friend, is appointed a physical education teacher of the high school. Kiri confessed her love to Horoki when they were in high school, but he refused her. Then, they haven’t met for a long time. At first, they cannot get along well with each other, but gradually, they began to remember their young loves that couldn’t have succeeded. Seeing them, Elise realizes that she loves him very much.

opinion
My first thought about this when i heard it was based on a game was that it was going to be like shuffle!. But once i read on abit and looked at the genres it seemed that this one was based more on the love/romance side of the game and not the ecchi side. At the moment there are no fansub groups taking this in, but it is only a matter of time till one does.

I think this one, somehow, isn't that interesting, due to the story itself, which lacks certain elements, like good drama or something...

Well the first ep has been released, now time to voice my opinion.

Well the first feeling I got of this up was it reminded me of Da Capo. The characters In It all have their own personal traits. The animation also was good; it suited the mood of the show. After watching the first ep, it seems like I will continue watching the show.

Well when I was watching the first ep, during the OP, It remained me of Da Capo. Then later on when they were walking to school and I saw the sakura trees, it reminded me of Da Capo again. The main character of this is a Teacher, well more like a teacher in training. He goes to school with his Cousin (Elis) who has just moved to that school, and is now living with him. It also seems that Hiroki and Elis have a close relationship, i wonder if this says anything about where the show is heading? Also there seems to be something that happened in Kamikura Hiroki’s past which stopped him from drawing, and it seems like that might be a vital part of the story line. Also his Cousin seems to dislike the colour red, after she was Involved In a car crash, in which their parents died, and it reminds her of the blood that was flowing out of them. Also the beginning of the episode started with a confession. In which the words seemed to fade away, but then at the end this scene is repeated when he notices someone at the end. I think I might continue to watch it just to see what happened between them, and also to get the background of some of the other characters noticed.

I thought that Elis was Hiroki's cousin, not his sister. Also, this anime is pretty interesting and might develop into a better story later on. I'd like to find out why he stopped drawing and painting and see how the other characters develop.

Yeah Elis is Hiroki's cousin. Anyway... I thought this was a pretty interesting series too. I will probably continue watching this series for a while.

Same thing, a guy who stops painting for some reason.

Canvas ~Motif of Sephia~ is a short OVA but quite nice although not particular special. Canvas 2 however seems to be much better since its gonna be longer then 2 ep lol!

I dunno much about Art but I think I might want to follow this series to the end... Not going to give up half way since it looks promising to me... but I don't expect much either... Rolling Eyes

I personally didn't like Canvas~Motif of Sepia~ that much due to it's lack of a story. I mean there was a story but it was too short to have gone further. Canvas 2 however has caught my attention and I liked it right away. I just love Elis, she's so cute! XD

Hmm, she's terrified of the color red... the psychologist part of me is very intrigued with this one, but I think many of us who saw episode 1 already know how that came about. Interesting how she chose to paint the roses blue to compensate though, she is very creative.

yep, found this anime to be another light feel good to watch series =)
that is for the moment... but it'll be more dramatic and heart ache later on.
But still, i found it cute and funny...especially in the end of the episode where they show the preview with 2 of their cute faces broadcasting what happens Razz

WAO!!! Ep3 is another surprise...
I think I can summarize this series:

Ep1 = Introductions of characters.
Ep2 = Further Introductions of characters.
Ep3 = Heavy Comedy + Character Development.

I like the way how this series progress and how the story unfold itself. I got a feeling that I'm going to enjoy this series... ^^ I like good Harem anime... cute girls here and there.. .^^ heheheheheheh... Twisted Evil

Either way... Our little Hagino Kana is too cute to ignore... Argh~!!! I think My favorite character shine immediately in ep3... Elise, you're down!! Prepare for your defeat!! Hagino rules!!
