It's not a problem for me, because I love Tessa. But I didn't think they sounded alike at all. Tessa sounds very unique with her high pitch whispering voice. But I never imagined Tessa as a gothloli before, I think it'll work on Tessa too.  |

However it seems to me that our Gothicloli girl in Canvas2 got some serious attitude problem... ^^

I just saw episode 6, and my nose has yet to stop bleeding (XX). I love this show, its getting better and better. What annoys me the most, and probably the only thing, is the sound effects they use, they sound like something form American cartoon sound effects. It seems to me that there are a lot of anime out there with sister-loves-brother themes. I love it. Now I gotta find a new show to watch while I wait for these shows to come out again.

Just downloaded all seven episodes today..
Canvas 2 kinda reminds me of Boys Be.
And it's clearly underated.
Uh why did Kiri pull away from the kiss...an dwhats his reason for quitting art? Anyone played the game??
Anyone knows where i can get the first season? |

poor ellis? man thats just wrong... marrying your cousin, on the other hand you've got your childhood crush who's a fully developed women and is extreamly cute when she's scared...(remember the i wanna go home bit in e 7?)

Wow, Hiroki must be some kind of saint, or he's gay... or I guess he really likes Kiri.
and I don't think Ellis and Hiroki is blood related. Ellis's mother seems to be non-Japanese. Ellis sounds like some foreign name and her family name is Housen (her father is probably Japanese).

Actually:
Hiroki only views Elis as a younger sister, hence he rejected her feelings. He explained that to her, and was interrupted when he began stating that "anything more than that is...".
On the other hand, in most parts of Japan it is legal for first cousins to marry, so a romantic relationship between Hiroki and Elis is not taboo at all. However it's clear Hiroki is leaning towards Kiri.

Because she suddenly remembered the day she confessed to Hiroki but got rejected.

I can't seem to download ep 11 from Lunar,
It keeps saying the torrent is rejected by the tracker or something...
anyone got the same problem?

He ain't no saint, but he sure does like Kiri, though he's careful not to show it that much.
It could be possible that they have the same grandmother, right? Except that perhaps two of their four parents are the sons/daughters of the grandmother, which makes them cousins in a way. |

i think the point is that it is wrong for relatives even if ur not blood related. However, it is a pity that they cannot share the same feelings. Kiri's got is good. 
btw, i still don't see how canvas 2 relates to the first canvas? Maybe i watched the wrong canvas 1? iono, isn't it about sum dude who's really good at art and then enters this art contest with a portrait of the girl that he likes and he wins and then they get together? hm... is the second canvas a continuation? |

That mentality came largely from Western Culture, particularly those influenced by Christianity, which prohibits sexual relations up to 2nd degree blood relations (eg in the Philippines which is predominantly Catholic, the closest relatives who can marry are 2nd Cousins). Japan has different laws and customs on that regard (stemming mainly from Buddhism and/or Shinto). And there have been other instances of cousins marrying or being engaged in other anime titles (eg Syaoran and Meilin in Cardcaptor Sakura though that one fell flat, and Sachiko and her cousin Masaru in Maria-sama Ga Miteru).

If the first canvas you're referring to is Canvas - Motif of Sepia and is just a 2 episode OAV, that and Canvas 2 - Niji-Iro no Sketch have some relation. In both titles, the main character is suffering from "artistic block" and refuses to paint. And the two series do share one character - Ren Sakurazuka. In the First Canvas, she's the adopted sister of main hero Daisuke Asou. She makes a cameo appearance in ep 2 of Canvas 2, and seems familiar with Hiroki asking him to sketch her (but got rebuffed when Hiroki said he'd only sketch girls with large, um, never mind).

| Thats true 13 does seem to taking ages......the other anime projects Lunar is working on seem to be quite slow also, I wonder if they are having problems with manpower? |
