I thought Yanagi would have been a nice guy. Turns out he's rotten. Saying all that bs he sure does have no shame. I bet he's gonna try to steal away every other girl that likes Hiroki too. Hiroki has always been cool i think. He's still the same as the old him, he's not trying to pretend or anything. He was only thinking of their friendship when he declined her because he likes Kirin too.
I wouldn't care about Kirin if I were Hiroki, Elis is good with kids and thats what the show is trying to tell us. That grey hair girl who likes to feed cats weenies is also cute. _________________ The hardest person to forgive is yourself~

Oh well the reason he stopped drawing makes sense now. WOW.. He stole his work, and then his girl, which is basically the life he would of been able to have. And then he comes back. IF it was me I would DECK him!
I agree totally, Yanagi is a jerk... If I would be Hiroki, I'll have beat the living lights out from him and make sure he can never pick up any drawing equipment anymore
Well, now that things start to develop... I got a feeling I'm going to enjoy this... lets see what Yanagi have to pull himself out from this. Oh and by knowing Hiroki's pass... i come to respect him more, dude... He is damn cool... *salute* _________________ [img:800:198:5c85a10b1b]http://img146.imageshack.us/img146/1347/feenasighk3.jpg[/img:5c85a10b1b]
I believe that both Hiroki and Yanagi were victims in their own ways, though I would definitely admit Hiroki suffered the most.
I can understand why Yanagi acted like a jerk here as most of you have pointed out. He basically is seen to have stole Hiroki's work and Kiri from him. These amounted up to a double mental blow for him, and the final straw for Hiroki was the failure to be able to get an award for the next rookie art competition. Basically, Yanagi was the evil guy who wrecked his entire life and caused him to lose the one thing that he would love most: being able to draw as an artist.
However, I say I can understand Yanagi because what he did was simply misguided by the malicious green of envy and jealousy. He knew and thought that Hiroki was completely out of his league in terms of talent and potential, and he also suspected before that Hiroki liked Kiri, and vice versa. He probably felt nothing more than being a friend to Kiri, and the talk during that night probably got him even more riled up about it.
The last straw for him came when he spied on Kiri confessing to Hiroki. Everything might have been different had he stayed a little longer, I think. After that, jealousy and desperation made him do something unforgivable to his best friend. In other words, his career was also stolen as well, but knowing Hiroki as the kind-hearted soul he is, he did not wish to resort to violence to resolve this matter and simply let it go. I would say he had an inferiority complex as well, thinking that he wasn't worthy to be with Kiri.
Basically, episode 13 was one of the best I've ever seen for flashbacks and for Canvas2. It explores the relationships of the three of them a little more deeply and explains the past between Hiroki, Kiri and Yanagi as well as the traumatic reason why Hiroki refused to draw.
I wonder, though, at Yanagi's attitude at the end of the episode. Doesn't he show even a bit of remorse? Still, I hope there will be some dramatic changes in his attitude towards Hiroki in the next episode, paving way for more drama. _________________ [IMG:350:100:b32e8a3e97]http://i10.photobucket.com/albums/a103/FAITH01/tomoyo1.png[/img:b32e8a3e97]

I assume all of you who have seen ep 14 watched the raw, or is another group aside from lunar doing the subs?
I really want to see 14 after the way 13 ended :curse you yanagi:
Ep 14 has already been subbed, while the raw of ep 15 is floating around out there.
A very quickie summary of ep 14.
So Yanagi shows up to be a special lecturer for Nadesico Highschool, much to the contention of Hiroki. Elise hears about Yanagi, then gets really suspicious about him when Hagino shows everyone something - the painting of Kiri done by Yanagi (the same one that got Hiroki steamed in the first place).Tensions go up when Kiri decides to have a reunion dinner for the three old friends at her house, and also invites Elise. But before the little party begins, Hiroki and Elise are on the way there when Hiroki suddenly says he forgot something and tells Elise to go ahead.
At Kiri's house, Kiri, Yanagi, and Elise are sullen, waiting for Hiroki to show up. Sensing something's wrong, Elise brings up the issue about the painting Yanagi did of Kiri. Yanagi drops the bombshell - that painting was copied from an original by Hiroki. Kiri is shocked. Things really heat up when Hiroki calls making an excuse and says he can't make it. Elise heard enough and decides to go home. Yanagi starts to wonder if Kiri is disgusted at him, but instead Kiri starts to blame herself for giving Hiroki a hard time given his current plight and cries. Later Elise berates Hiroki for hiding the truth, and it doesn't help that Hiroki still keeps silent.
Next day Hiroki meets Kiri at school, but Kiri is unusually shy this time and quickly leaves. Before leaving after finishing his job at Nadesico, Yanagi talks to Hiroki - while Yanagi is not expecting Hiroki to forgive him, he at least wants to see Hiroki's drawings again, then walks away. Hiroki follows Yanagi, telling Yanagi not to blame himself for what's happening now, then does the impossible - he tries to draw again.
Some of you might start disliking the series beginning ep 15, as it seems to go the way of the "girl of the week" scheme.
Ep 15 deals with the School Superintendant Saya, who's actually the acting superintendant (the real superintendant is her sister, who apparently is away on a business trip). Quite a number of surprises about her:
-She owns a green convertible (with a navigation system!) and drives with her hair on fire, enough to scare Hiroki after inviting him to a dinner date
-She can't seem to hold alcohol well, and collapses into Hiroki's arms after said dinner date and a glass of wine, and Hiroki had to drive her home, using said Navigation system to get there (like what happened with Hagino, Kiri and Elise are not amused to hear about that dinner date)
-She practices Naginata, a form of fighting with a bladed staff
-She's a Karaoke buff (and a scary one too!)
Ep 16, based on the preview, will be about Hagino's editor, and there will be a scene about her with Kiri.

Well, seems like a good end to the silent feud Hiroki might have against Yanagi...Which is good. And at least we know now that Yanagi has a conscience, not like what many say that he is a 'two-faced, unfeeling *censored*' as I've seen on many forums.
I actually don't mind the 'girl of the week' thingy. At least it moves on to the 'older' females, moving from the students to the staff for a while isn't so bad. _________________ [IMG:350:100:b32e8a3e97]http://i10.photobucket.com/albums/a103/FAITH01/tomoyo1.png[/img:b32e8a3e97]

Thats pretty much where I was at.
So it looks like the plot is being pushed to the back burner again..
Not at all actually. Wait till you see ep 17
Hiroki becomes fully accepted as a teacher at Nadesico HS, and his class gives him a congrats party, while some of the girls decide to give him presents. Elise's present to him is a real biggie - a portrait of him drawn by her just from memory. One thing though - Elise did try to use red this time, but got no further than just squeezing some of it on to her palette without actually using it in the painting.
Meantime, another cameo by Yanagi, this time over a cup of coffee with Kiri. Apparently he's still feeling guilty about Hiroki.
