my dad has a little problem with the Japanese obsession thing (he's old school chinese). He's not racist or anything just thinks my brother and i absolutely adore all that is Japanese just because we watch anime/read manga. I find Japan & Japanese culture interesting but im not obsessed. im pissed that the Japanese gov is still whitewashing ww2 history though. i even created a thread about it. my first thread ever Razz

Suicide rates are through the roof there, too, due to their morals of "honour" and "shame". It's not the heaven everyone thinks it is.

Anyway, I do want everyone to know that I'm not trying to come off harsh or anything. It's just my view.

i try to approach such things with a open mind, and i do too respect all races and cultures, but liking another culture other than their own doesnt mean we are neglecting our own.

try focus on the good things, suicide have nothing to do with what this topic was originally implied to.
