what is the meaning of life?
i think that life has no meaning but then why do we go on?
in order to find out what is the meaning of life should we live it to the fullest and search for our own meaning?

there is no real answer to this question, it all reli depends on ur outlook on life itself. if u are sad, then life would seem horrible and pointless. a happy person would be happy and cheerful no matter what and so life seems meaningful.

a reli boring answers would be: the meaning of life is to live, or: there is meaning in life, and so that is the meaning of life.

i cant tell u the meaning of life, it is somethign that we must all find for ourselves.

take me for instance, there is meaning in life becuase i have all my friends and family with me, and im happier these days because of them. there is meaning in my life because i have them and everything else that i do.
one day, we will be shown the meaning of our existence, perhaps after a long enjoyable life. when this day comes, all will be made clear, until that day comes, best enjoy life as it is.
remember, the meaning of life comes from what u see in life, and what u feel for others adds meaning to that.

dude..that is just plain freaky..like 10 min. ago i was thinking about creating the same..identical thread.~! Shocked

like ani said, "there's no real answer to this question. " It's basically all opinionated.

i think that we live to survive...and in hopes of finding self-actualization or some kind of self worth~! i mean y are we lviing~?! are we suppose to live out some kind of purpose that will benefit ourselves as well as others?~!....really complex huh~!?

i would love to live life to the fullest....and go on a journey in search for finding myself~!..and yes i do think that's wat life should be..living ur dreams...trying to find something beneficial in life~! But unfortunately, with the way our world works, i beleive there's few ppl who will go beyond and outside the relm of our traditions and customes...and will continue to stay within society's boundries.

i mean since when do u c some1 not going to school or doing things in an orderly way (ex. middle school to high school..to college or to work)? u rarely see some1 escaping and willing to move beyond these "limitations" to find one's self~!

i wish i could leave school....and somewat leave the past and move forward with life to find my "destiny"..but it's quite frightening to leave wat's already acustomed to our generation. not that u can't accomplish ur dream by attending school...or anything like that....but still..it would be nice to not feel bound to how things work in soceity...who says wat we must do in order to live our dreams?~!...i find it quite dissapointing how we must follow many principles in order to live OUR lives and accomplish OUR goals~!

------------------------TRUE STORY
there was once a man...who lived on campus @ a local college~! he was obviously below the poverty line...since he was homeless~! now wat was so surprising if students had a ques. about ANY subject at school..they would say, "Hey...let's go c Harry!".....and would u know...harry would answer all their ques. how~?!...well during the time he lived there.....he attended EVERY class lecture on campus!!

u c he believed that knowledge was more important than anything else that confinds us. and that's a person who has lived life to the fullest. he is enlightened, and found transcendence~!

The meaning to life? Ultimately, there is no meaning to life.
How exactly can you live life to the fullest if you don't know how full it gets?
What you should do is assume that you make your OWN purposes and make your OWN goals. Don't follow anyone elses footsteps because then you wouldn't be living you OWN life.

If you see an opportunity, take it because as said before "You will always miss 100% of the shots you don't take". Even if you fail in whatever you do in life, people will know that you tried and you didn't just give up in the midst of life.

Life is all based on chance and whatever you want out of it you're going to have to earn. Opportunities aren't going to come to your doorstep and give what you want. Persue your dreams and you'd fullfil YOUR meaning to life; if you don't the only thing knocking on your door is death.

Would knowing this really help us? I don't think so. We'd all end up doing the same things so that we don't waste our lives. Goodbye individualism. How inhuman.

Usually I can't be bothered by things like this. I deal only with things that I may have some influence on.

can't u live by trying to find the meaning to UR OWN life~?! the two coexist...with exploration and experience...hopefully it reveals to u ur own meaning to ur own life and self worth~~!

The meaning of your own life is a belief, not a thing you can know.
You cannot write it down and live by it everyday. Your own meaning will change every day, everytime you make a new experience. By the time you realize what it is, it may have already changed ^^

I could never write down the ultimate law for me that I will always follow.
"Be happy" There will be times when I need to be sad
"Take pride in what you do" There will be times when I need to do despicable things

But what is expected of someone who does things he would never do.
