naruto definately naruto. i already got my cuzin (who is like 18 when he started watching) and my sister's boyfriend (who's 19). Now my cuzin is looking at and watched all sorts of anime, whenever he's bored he sees some but he's crazy to see bleach and naruto.

It doesn't matter what anime I choose for them, they get addicted in the end, cause I animate scenes of any anime that I've watch back to life ( of course the interesting parts) and after 2-3 days of startling them with new scenes extracted from the anime or my adorament for the anime, they started to pay attention and I'll just have to rewind it again and they're addicted. Twisted Evil Evil or Very Mad

Good question. I thought about it and I think I've shown Blood:The Last Vampire to the most non-anime watchers. It's short and sweet. I used to show people Ninja Scroll all the time, and the first couple episodes of Neon Genesis are a good way to see if someone would be down with anime too. Recently Ive been blowing peoples minds with Final Fantasy advent Children.

Its really based on the type of person but if I were to choose one I would make sure it was a fansub because as we all know the english versions aren't the best to watch.

completely agree with you there. if i show someone something dubbed in english a little embarrasment usually kicks in because the english dubbing usually sounds like a kids cartoon. plus japanese sounds so cool.

Honestly I would just say "watch cartoon network sometime" because half the people who get hooked, get hooked by some crappy anime, or some anime thats been crapped on by bad dubbing and bad editing(ie. Naruto). When they get hooked they pretty much fall for a general genre at first until they discover other stuff on their own or via influence. When hooked, they will fall for either All-out-bust-a-nose-bleed-action,Mechs, Sci-fi/Spaceships or ninjas (sadly enough samurai and any other sort of warring characters fall under this as well since most newbs consider them to be the same as ninjas. I don't really know why). The anime that hooked me was Outlaw Star. And yeah, it was the sci-fi aspect of it that did it. Spaceships. Sorry if this sounds downplayed, but from my experience this holds true. Just watch whatever the hell is on CN tonight. Accept for Bobobobo-Bobo-Bobobo, which is a horrible version of Excel Saga with even worse voice acting (Personal oppinion here).

Heh. I got quite a lot of people hooked with Azumanga Daioh alone. Rolling Eyes
Was able to find a dvd with chinese subs fortunately since my godmother and the kids aren't that good with english. Failed to get my godfather hooked though. My colleagues have the dvd now. Wonder how far is this addiction going to spread. Twisted Evil

Still working on getting the girls hooked. Going to try using Yakitate Japan! Don't have chobits with me right now if not I would have tried that instead. Progress so far is still at 0%... Crying or Very sad
