Who think games these days really suck? I mean they really are.. There may be some games that are good but most of them are reallly crummy. All my favorite games suck now. The graphics may be better but the game just isnt good.

That's because most game developers focus more on graphics than gameplay value.

Hmmm, well you can partially blame the games not being on par because of the preperation that companies are making for the next gen consoles. There aren't that many third party games that are being scheduled to come out for the current cnosoles that can even compare to the hype that the 360 and its line up are getting. Just wait a while and after the xbox 360 is out more and more games that should be good will come out.

I don't deny that some of the new games are really disappointing, but you got to admit that there are the good ones as well. We can't really say all of them, but we can't say none of them.

Lots of games these days or months are really....WEIRD or just a waste of $$$ if you're not careful.

there are some good games but they're 6 months or a year before being released.

Well, I agree in a way, but also disagree since sometimes people have different preferences over the games that they have played. Some just like the action scenes that they did not care at the story at all, and some jsut played for the sake of story even though the gameplay sucks.

In the end, it depends on individuals. For me, I am a mixture of both, so for me, this year, quite a significant number of games come out quite good so far.

The games are getting better visually and content wise,

There is greater range of games as well which inevitably means that the quality and maturity of SOME games will go down.....

However, great mature intellectual games like Civilisation IV are coming out!!

It gets better n better

Return the games back to like it was in the days of Super Nintendo or Sega Genesis,

a certain amount of continues
No memory card or save points
No complicated buttons
No such thing as "please wait loading"

there are some good points in new games now but also bad points just like
js3yk sed.

I used to say to myself "at least the graphics are good" but there is a limit to this....Everything seems so cool when it is all complicated but really, its just a load of bs which somehow appeals to idiots. One of the few reasons why I haven't gotten rid of my N64! Very Happy

In my country almost all the games are for children, there are a few good games, and they come one each four months or so. You are sooooo lucky.

Kisses for everyone and sorry for my english Wink

For my 2 cents on this debate (and its pretty much an industry wide topic, there are some very well informed answers to the question out there, try looking at shacknews) I lost a lot of faith in games, but have recently played Darwinia and Rag Doll Kung Fu and would highly recommend both to anyone having a crisis of faith in the industry!

I am impressed by the standards that some developers have maintained for yesterday's series to still have an impact today. Tales of Symphonia has a similar structure like the snes Tales that I played but it has a 3d battle field. Ubisoft has handled the return of the Prince of Persia very well; it has received as much praise as the original game got, many more.
