no need to waste your money on games, you guys can just burn it(for people with mod chips) else just rent it first to see what it's like, and with blockbuster's no late fee thing, you can pretty much beat any game after renting it once since there's no time period, as for games, if you're gonna play thinking that the game is bad then obviously you won't have fun, try moving to other genres or sticking with sequels to previous hits

I haven't bought any games since Warcraft III. None of the current ones interest me enough to shell out $50 for them.
And I heard that it will be $60-$70 for AAA titles for the next-gen consoles... ugh.
Yeah, most games these days aren't really worth the $50 price tag, but there are some good ones out there like Resident Evil 4 and God Of War (but you can probably find used ones for cheaper or you can opt and go for renting them off of gamefly.com).
Some games that have been made with good intentions, but didn't sell well such as Psychonauts and that xbox game (dang I already forgot its name) that takes place in outer space (kind of like a halo game, but in 3rd person),uimmmmm (it was supposed to be a trilogy, but because sales were not good they are probably going to end up making the sequels into board games). _________________ PM some funny pick-up lines please >
the reason games are so expensive is because the companies always lose money on the actual console itself, think about it for a second and it'll start making sense, consoles like the future ps3 and the xbox 360 are running on crazy speeds, with such video/graphic cards as ATI and so forth backing them up with versions and chips that aren't even sold in stores yet, furthermore the consoles like the ps3 has like what, 150 to 300 gigs of space, internet compatibility, sound cards and so many more things i can't think about right now there inside the console, they're supposed to be a future entertainment system all by themselves, and what are they being sold for? $500 to $700, that's the price of a damn pentium 3 1ghz, 40 gig, 128 mb ram cpu with integrated graphics card and a modem, if you compare the two, tell me that the ps3 and xbox 360 shouldn't be worth at least double what the cpu is worth, but it's not, therefore the only way the companies can make up for the lost money in hardware and software is through their expensive games, not trying to make people think like i buy games, cuz obviously like stated in my prvious post, i don't, but this is just to give you an idea of why games are so expensive

It's not that the games have become boring, I think the games lack the passion of 80s and 90s, The golden eras of console gaming.
Now days there are so many games in all types, things seem less interesting unless the developers really strain themselves and go all out on the game. Everything is so formularized so every game just feels so artificial and mass produced; which is literally half true
Games build up on and improve up on other previous games, it's rare to find something new now days. _________________ [IMG:258:200]http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v435/ypark/sigs/3fsn.png[/img]
It seems nowadays the popular gaming trend is going to MMOs
Which is sad for the tried-and-true console gamers (like me) who just want to pay one time for a game they'll play constantly. We need more games like Dark Cloud 2, part RPG, part Adventure, part Strategy.
Multi-faceted games that have multiple elements with at least an effort of originality (which is hard nowadays since almost everything's been done in some shape or form.) that can keep the attention of even the casual gamer, not just the fanboys that post on 4chan.
I think half the reason that we always remember the "Golden Age" as being so great is because we choose what to remember and what to forget. So obviously we all remember our first Atari/NES/SEGA experience, and that would then define gaming for us and become untouchable in our eyes. Meanwhile we forget the bad games, dusty cartidges not working etc etc and as games continue to evolve further and further away from our memories of that time to suit the needs of the current generation then we all get hung up on the failings of the new generation and forget those of our own.
I guess what I'm trying to say is that we all get nostalgic, and we all deplore the soulless, shallow games that get made today (*Cough* EA *Cough*) but we need to remember that there were as many stinkers then as there were today, just the same as there is an equal amount of classics that we've now all become too cynical and wordly to appreciate with the child-like joy of yesterday.

Unfortunately for me i am a console gammer, never really liked messing on the PC, so its been a while since i played a game that was healthy (storyline, graphics, length). Im a poor college student i dont have the time or money to play mmo's or the tollerance to play ffxi so i have to wait for something or continue to replay the psone games i have.
i agree with the previous threads about the passion of the 80s and 90s but the bottom line is games dont last as long as they used to everyone's worried about the next system and who and what can become the next final fantasy 7 but no developer is ready to waste their time creating a long game that people will not buy because they are not square affiliated

i think games are perfectly fine these days. Graphics are much improved and they're coming out with a variety of different types of games for different peoples taste.

there would be times when no nice game would be produced and I go out and trying something new.....
what I really found surprisingly not boring was Animal Crossings on the Gamecube.... I still have no idea why... but I just enjoy doing the fishing parts......
I even got scolded by my sister for destroying the flowers that she planted at a nearby field ~_~
we actually argued to tell you the truth _________________
I have myself chosen to support more innovative games nowadays. For example many of the Nintendo DS games are good, I mean those which use the touch screen pretty much. I'll be waiting for Nintendo Revolution.
Plus that I play mostly brainless games, which aren't published for game consoles excluding some puzzle games.
I would pay for a copy of Nanaca Crash PSP/DS, but that won't happen I hope the gaming industry would realize that short/small/brainless games are also good..
Edit: And the games today are just as good as before. It's just harder to find them, because there are alot more games produced these days. And good games seldom get any advertisement at all, just the yearly remake versions of NHL/Fifa/Madden/[Any-Shoot-em-up] etc.
