| well, thats why i tend to play Japanese games. Their graphics are 2d n pixely.(e.g. Phantom Brave.) But the game play is a Masterpiece. So yea, european game usually focuses on graphics, then the gameplay will suck. |

the good games now are the ones which existed since the beginning like MSG series
so now the new games have got no attration power, unless the story is super great, than ppl might look at them other than that no chance of being better. |

The majority of them do suck now. But every once and a while there are good games that come out. Namely the FF sereis, Guilty Gear, Xenosaga, Soul Calibur, and things like that. But thats for PS2, I dont think any good games come out for Xbox and GC anymore personally. _________________ Miku Miku!!

| when they reveal the next gen consoles, all they can do is talk about how great the new graphics are and show videos of what they are like. graphics are important, but i believe that actually not that much will change with gameplay-a few real gems will come out, just as has been said, but most will be repetitive and try to look fancy but be boring in a short time. |

Largely they show off the console's capability because thats its selling point, it shows the platfroms technical potential. Its not up to the console makers to provide or advertise the content . And some of the next gen games do seem to offer great gameplay, Gears Of War looks like its going to combine incredible visuals, a compelling story and gripping gameply (Oh god I sound like a marketing exec with all those cliche buzzwords. Becuase normaly I avoid cliches like the plague! ). |

| Every game seems like a mish mash of games I've played before. This new generation of games coming up doesn't seem to be shaping up to look good either. (Well, the Revolution looks like it has potential..) |

I think games have gotten to complicated control wise, because game can be come redundant so quickly they have to be complex to keep people interested but really all that complexity dosn't add that much to a game mostly though I'm so sick of all the FPS's that come out I mean It seem like that's all people make anymore, that and Grandtheft Auto clones
I just wish I could see a Classic Epic RPG with great storyline that's why I was looking forward to Advent Rising so much, s uch a dissapointment sigh* |

For me
I think graphic is better than the past but the concept of game didn't change in some game, however some game had a bad concept (such as GTA )
why GTA has a bad concept : because it promote people to do the bad thing in game |

i think it is of course a matter of perspective. one of my favorite games was football on intellivision. talk about crappy graphics-yuck, but it was cooler than heck.
another good one was mr.doo on colecovision. this fool ran around picking cherries running and squashing his opponents.
my girlfriend likes the old zelda and can't even look at the newer 3d versions. i think she likes the music overall, but she's a wiz with zelda.
some 3d games have tried really hard to maintain their image. case in point mario bros. although they are 3d you can still get that old plummer's crack feeling. i could go on for hours... but i won't.
peace. |

Who needs destructable landscapes. The reality of the gaming world today is games especially good ones take a lot of money to designt and produce. Money that greedy software producers have a lock on. They dont give that out unless theyre pretty confidant of a game that'll move enough copies to turn a profit. That means less imaganative games get the boot or turn up downsized in a bargan bin and we get to see shelves stocked with movie based games. Id still go to argue that games today are amazing and its all what your looking for. Ill admit gamecube isnt much of a force in the gaming world but Xbox has fraking amazing titles like halo2 and fable. They not be everyones cup o tea, but these games are really well done. Playstation2 has the FF and GTA games. Computer games mind blowing with choices like half life, Doom, lots of MMO's and plenty of the best strategy games. If you still think todays games suck, at least ask yourself if your holding todays games to a realistic standard. Im quite happy with todays selction of games. _________________ "Let them hate, so long as they fear" |

| A vast majority of new games have been pretty crappy, but if you look carefully, you can find plenty of gems. |

| That's because most game developers focus more on graphics than gameplay value. |
I disagree with that... coz some game out there is still lack of graphic...dont mention the gameplay and storyline...
there are only some publisher that has high quality such as square enix and konami...else is need more polishing and need more graphic quality...
I rather play ps1 than ps2 now... bcoz there is not so many game that catch my attention lately accept for square games...
