I finally watched and I must say I have a new Favorite Ghibli movie...

Grave of the Fireflies

I had high expectations for this movie, and it didn't dissapoint. Go watch it. It might not be Miyazaki, but damn it's masterful. Mr. Green

i dont really have a favourite one but there is a particular scene from one of them that impressed upon me much. I dont even know what the thing is called as it has Japanese characters on the cover, but its the one where a girl writes a story on something and has a relationship with some guy from school who plays the violin. The scene where they got together and sang is the most memorable out of all the anime i've seen.

I do have one that i dislike though. Again, dont know what its called. About some girl in the city going back to the countryside or something. I never made it past the 20 min mark.

I think that is 'whispers of the heart'

Wow, this is a really tough question.

I love Whispers of the Heart, so I'd probably have to call it my favorite. But so many others are ranked way up there for me, it's very hard to decide. I love Omohide Poro Poro, Porco Rosso, Tanuki Wars (this one is halarious), Totoro, Kiki...geez, so tough.

I loved Spirited away and Princess Mononoke, which are probably the two most popular of his works. (Spirited Away broke the all time record for sales in Japan, topling Titanic off their list.) I loved their new film, Neko no Ongaeshi and Naausica. To be truthful, I don't think there is a ghibli film I don't like.

ive watched just about every one of them. they're all good but my favorite would have to be Grave of the Fireflies. then Laputa or Nausicaa would probably come second.

yeah....i like his older works in the 70s nd 80s better than the recent ones like spirited away nd mononokehime. not to say that they're not good or anything.

Would have to be Laputa as it was the first anime I ever say way back when I was 3 years old and got me into anime, although Nausicaa is also extremely good but I didn't see that one until I was about 8 and I have only recently got a hold of the Manga Boxset containing all 4 books Smile

There are so many kick ass Studio ghibli movies and I can't wait to see the new movie "Howl's Moving Castle" Very Happy

Official website: http://www.howl-movie.com/top.html

The story is adapted from an old book in wich a young gril is turned into an old woman by a crankey witch... or somthing like that... I think Razz My Japanese is sketchy at best Razz

It's gotta be Spirited Away. I haven't seen all avalible Ghibli stuff but everything I've seen so far has been really great. I adored Kiki and Grave Of the Fireflies, too. I guess Spirited Away wins because it was the first thing I saw...

Honestly, there's no Myazaki anime I wouldn't pay for, they're all amazing. It's one of the few names that'll make me dish out money without too much thought (I'm poor and stingy Embarassed ).

My Neighbor Totoro, since it was the first one I saw.

But Grave of the Fireflies hit me pretty hard as well.

I absolutely ADORE Ghibli films! Which makes me wonder why I always draw a blank when someone asks me my favorite movie.........anyway, my most favorite one is My Neighbor Totoro, I used to watch it everyday when I was small, and it never gets boring. I also like Castle in the Sky, and Spirited Away.I would like Mononoke Hime, only I don't remember it very well........-_-;

Ooh, hard to choose... I haven't seen a lot of them, but all the ones I saw were amazing. I'd hafta say a tie between Castle in the Sky and Spirited Away ^_^

For me it would be
- Nausicaa, valley of the wind.
- Castle in the sky.
- Princess Mononoke.

Is it just me or does his older films seem better?
