Which FF series was the hardest to beat?

Which is the hardest final fantasy series was the hardest for you?
Mine was final fantasy 9 trying to beat it under 12 hrs to get excalibur 2.

Oh...you mean the challenge in FF...for me, the toughest one is to get Sun Crest in FFX...up until now I still haven't get that item...it's hard to win that game with 0.00 timer...

I thought that when Final Fantasy 7 came out, that it was pretty hard to beat. I mean it was the first 3d FF and it was kind of hard to control and walk around. But, the second hardest one has to be FF4 because it was kind of too...challenging. I couldn't get to the last boss because even though I trained a lot it was just too hard to get to

final fantasy 8 fighting omega weapon without walls or heros (forgot those items names).

man, the FF7 weapons were super insane especially if you didnt do the side uest for teh unlimited timer on the underwater one~

gotta agree with doggiez, 12 hours was pretty hard to do, not because it was hard to get through the game and battling, just that once you've played the game so many times that you'd want to get the excalibur2, you can't help but get every secret/quests/items along the way to the last dungeon since as a rpg gamer, you feel like you gotta completely finish the game, other than that, ffx-2 really PISSED ME OFF cuz it took over 70 hours to get the damn 100% ending! a bit off topic but ff8 was the easiest of all of them, if you didn't fight any weapons, try and get all the cards or so on, the story only takes a little over or under 10 hours to beat

For me, the easiest is FFX-2...even Trema is ridiculously easy...

and in FFX, I only managed to dodge up to 160 lightning...then I give up...

its the hardest, most time consuming and hardest chellenge square has ever put a die hard FF fan through.

if anyone can beat it in 12 hours to get excalibur 2 i'd say congratulation your are truely a master of the FF series.

believe me, I took me a lot of tries and i mean a lot.

i'm kinda off the topic but i was wondering has anyone ever got lion heart in FF 8 on the first disc?

i tired it but it takes a lot of amount of luck and patient. so i quit. Its possible! by playing cards in balamb garden. instead i had to wait until disc 2 to get lion heart by getting a power generator.
