hey guys, after much wasted money at arcades on ddr games, finally decided to just go and buy the damn game already, so the question that we're faced with here is out of all the dozens of DDR games out there, which one should i buy (preferably for the ps2)? i've pretty much narrowed it down to DDRMAX and DDRExtreme so either one of those? unless you guys have another one you had in mind then go ahead and name it, comments are most welcome, thanks

ddr extreme and ddr max are good enough for starters.

I think for now, I'd go with DOAMAX, since that's the first one I ever played, and love it!

CGY are you just totally off topic talking about some doa version or did you accidentally type that instead of ddr? if you meant ddrmax then i gotta say i've been hearing quite a lot of people saying that's the only good ddr game for ps2, songwise at least

I recommend ddr extreme aswell, if you can beat legend of max and paranoia survivor MAX on expert mode with a A then i applaud you. But you'll need a metal mat for that achievement though.

i think whether the mat is just foam or metal doesn't really matter, what really does help people is the bar at the back because you can hold your weight with your arms thus giving your legs flight-like movements, unfortunately they cost like what, $100 cheapest (from ebay)?

The bar does help alot but also the mat. There was this brazian/spanish guy who got AAA on legend of max on expert without using the bar at the back in the arcades. The most important thing is your determinaton to become really good at it but the mat counts aswell and yep there's no cheap metal mat.

The best DDR isn't a DDR version at all...it's Stepmania. It's free and you can get any song you can imagine.

DDR is Dance Dance Revolution. A game that places you on a pad with arrows pointing foward, backwards, left and right. The screen lights up and arrows start to appear, you have to step on the pad's arrows at the right time. It's basically a free flow dancing game.

I think that DDRmax was the best one because it had most of my favorite songs and was one of the first DDRs to hit the local arcade. It was simple and didn't have the overly competitive versus system. DDRmax was simply a fun game that everyone had fun playing.

DDR Max will hold a special place in my heart only because it was the first one I played. But song wise the best is EXTREME. It actually had a few damn good songs, unlinke previous mixes. (Let them move *BARF*)
