No. I did take first-year Japanese in college, but I don't remember much from that.
I've got some as-of-yet unused software to help me learn it, though. |

I was so obssessed with Japanese culture that I start studying Nihonggo by myself.
Yep
I borrowed a bunch of books (and some mangas) from the library like dictionaries and stuffs. I also learned a little bit from James Clavell's Shogun (which is headache-inducingly thick). I'm going to take Nihonggo classes some time soon (I hope) |

dang it Speck... do you have to use kanji with no subscript kana? =(
("furigana" ?)
ぼくがにほんごがすこしはなします (I think that's right...)
i'm still a novice, but what i know is what i've taught myself or heard from those funky pimsleur audio lessons. |

| I´d really love to learn Japanese in order to understand the animes and to be able to take some trips to Japan. Unfortunately, here in Germany aren´t many opportunities to learn this nice language, so I´m going to learn it starting after Christmas. |

ok specky babelfish translated your post as this
"Calling you obtain, I do not speak Japanese. Or what persevering, always, it is useless. There is no excuse"
so babelfish still needs some tweeking i think. come'on share what it really means with the rest of us barely-foreign-language-schooled kids. |

Let me try. Iie. Watashi wa Nihongo ga hanashimasen. Nani gai ganbatte mo itsumo dame desu. Moushiwaken gosaimasen..
Good, I understand that, hehe. There's nothing to apologize for, xD. Maybe something's not correct, but I have the idea ^^. If someone wants the translation, should be easier if it's in romanji...
By the way, don't take the foolish idea that it's possible to know japanese withouth learning kanjis. I know they're easy to hate (yeah, I either needed to start with them...>_<), but you get used to them ^_^. |
