will the world end in our lifetime?

I dont know if the world will end in our generation and I wont know until it happens but that gives us the reason to read as much manga, watch as much anime, play as many games, go for what you want, ask that girl out, do whatver you really desire and dont worry about what happens or what people think.

by me saying the world will end in our lifetime, i meant that all life in general will cease to be on earth, and that earth becomes a wasteland of some description.
its not the world ending, but the life on earth ending.
the earth will still be here whether we are or not for the next few million years, but how long will life last on this planet is what i meant to say
will the whole of life on earth be wiped out by natures distructive force or will all the recent disasters just blow over and we'll continue on with our lives?
sorry about any confusion that it may have caused before. but eitherway, life ending or world ending, its still good to hear what u all think

im not a religious guy, but is it just me or does anyone else thnk the apocalypse is upon us? my friends are JW and their stduy teacher said that armageddon was a high possibility in our lifetime...maybe this is it...a sigh to the end of the world perhaps?

Life can exist under the most extreme conditions.

I'm pretty sure there will still be bacteria & viruses (If you consider them organisms) For billions of years.

true that there will still be bacterium and other single celled organisms, but there has to be some force strong enough to completely wipe them off the planet, dont u think?
something like a meteor 50 km wide would be enough to end all life, including bacteria. ever seen armageddon or something. theres gotta be something like that out there...
the bible was written to foretell our generation, everythign in it, all its prophercies were written to predict what would happen now...and its only just started to begin. why else would all these sudden occurances of natural disasters and troubles be happening now, in this year alone? compared to any other year, im pretty sure that 2004 - 2005 is the worst year in history...speaking about everything that has happened of course.
c'mon think about it...its possible wouldnt u think?

i'd say its fairly unlikely the world would end i our lifetime, maybe there'd be escalating disasters, but not6hing world ending. that would only happen if we continued upon the path of destruction from another century or so, then wed be destroyed. i figure manikind is at a turning point now-we can either glorify ourdelves by finding ways to get by without so much pollution, and continue advancing until something unrelated to global climate wipes us out, say global war, or we'll destroy ourselves by refusing to accept what were doing to the world.

well, the world in general seems to have calmed down a bit. hasnt been a natural disaster for about a full month now.
i guess that theres only the birdflu to worry about now. then after that, its smooth sailing...

No possibility that human kind would end. What would be the point of Jehovah (God, for those of you who dont know) having took the time to create us just to wipe us out? Armageddon's coming, hopefully in my lifetime (cause that'd just be cool) and I can't wait for it. I mean, who wouldn't want to be immortal?

i forgot who said that we're all going to die in the year 2012. but really i think the ozone's going to burn out and we're all going to burn to death, but not in my life time, that'll be a bit too soon for me and a bit sad.

Anything is possible. It is possible that mice are actually the smartest creatures on earth, and humans are actually the third after the dolphins. It seems unlikely to us, but no one knows that is isn't possible. In the same way, it is possible that the world could end while we are still alive, doesn't seem like ly to some, but alas, it can't be proven because it is possuble that an asteroind is just biding its time in the asteroid belt to come and annihilate the planet earth, or perhaps a Vogon warship.

the meyan callender ends at 2012 and other religiose books have refrences to that year and the apocolips so yeah thats what some people think
